  1. I am ashamed at what has been written here by fellow aviators. The language, diatribe and bile that has issued forth is an absolute disgrace. What sought of people are you? What are your standards? Please, take a long hard look at yourselves. You may point the finger abusively at someone, but at the same time you are pointing-out your standards with three fingers pointing back at you.

    Goodbye.

  2. Galpin checked on google and would like order some. Was going to order online from US but looks like they don't ship to Australia so you have to buy from Australian distributor. Is this correct and where do you source yours?

    Try this site:

    http://www.driwash.com.au/website/Company/product_waterless_carwash.php

I have not ordered for a few years (shows how long mine has lasted) , so the company may have changed. Give it a go. I would caution about listening to any sales pitch about selling the product. DriWash is very good, but it is not cheap.

  3. In the beginning, God created the earth & rested. Then God created Man & rested.

Then God created Woman & rested.

Since then, neither God nor man has rested.

    Here endeth the lesson. 096_tongue_in_cheek.gif.d94cd15a1277d7bcd941bb5f4b93139c.gif

Some may think that funny. A reminder for you, "The fool says in his heart, 'There is no God.' " Reference is in Psalm 14:1.

  4. A bit off topic but were you at 10 ATC sqn in PN ? I was there from 1964-1968. Also flew on the Dak out of Ohakea/ Went on to join the airforce and did 5,000 hours on Orions. Flew the Dak and still have that endorsement on my CPL.

Not me. We left NZ as a family in Jan. 1965 for Australia. Dad said he would teach me to fly. Unfortunately he didn't get around to it, as he died as a quite a young man. I nearly went the same way at 47, when I had a heart-attack. I learned to fly about 6 years ago. By the way my Lightning is still for sale. See the RA-Aus plane adverts.

  5. I was lucky enough to have a choice between two different types to train in. I chose the one that was easiest to fly (or more accurately, flew as a well designed aircraft should 022_wink.gif.2137519eeebfc3acb3315da062b6b1c1.gif ), even though it was more expensive. I wanted to discover how the controls worked and learn to fly in various conditions first before I started dealing with the idiosyncrasies of aircraft design. I'm happy with the choice so far.It will be interesting to fly different types in the future (taildraggers are definitely on the list), but honestly I love flying an aircraft that flies as an extension of myself. 080_plane.gif.36548049f8f1bc4c332462aa4f981ffb.gif

As an aside, flying with my instructor in his Rv-7A....that is really an aircraft where you just have to think what you want to do and it does it. Exhilarating!

You should come and fly my Lightning. There's an invitation for you. When you come, bring your Top Gun music with you!

  6. the little LSA Jabiru will teach you to really fly. the aircraft won't help you at all. and if you can master the LSA, then you can easily fly anything.

I did most of my training in the LSA 55. While it was a hand full, initially, I soon learned to appreciate the aircraft. Thankfully I never bent it or ran into any objects on the ground. Since training days, I have flown a few different Jabiru's and a Lightning. The LSA 55 certainly helped me in my flying of these other aircraft.

  7. The problem with only going to Natfly for the day is that most of the fun seems to happen at night.........especially at Camp David 026_cheers.gif.2a721e51b64009ae39ad1a09d8bf764e.gifOh well....just about to head over to Temora now....hope to see some of you there.

Check out Lightning 7149, it is there.

  8. Does look nice but...........with that wing where it is, forward/down view is seriously compromised, isn't it? Now if it where higher than the pilots head...................just thinking augie.gif.8d680d8e3ee1cb0d5cda5fa6ccce3b35.gif

While you are thinking Deskpilot, have a look at the site my avatar comes form http://flightsciences.net/

If this aircraft really gets up and reaches its potential, then I'm assuming it will be a very good addition to recreational aviation.

  9. I've always been intrigued by Canard aircraft since building a plywood throw model of one as a teenager. How quickly and efficiently it flew compared to more conventional models. There is a new SSDR canard aircraft under development in the UK. I'd guess it could compete with the Saphire for future sales.

Very nice. Will be interesting to see the final result. Eastmeg2 could you keep us up-to-speed on this aircraft's continued development and eventual flight and maybe some information for potential buyers?

  10. Just doing some research & thought I would call upon the fount of combined knowledge that hangs out here! Which 2 seat aircraft offer the highest cruise speed say 130 knots or better suitable for long distance travel? I'm thinking ultralight but would consider imported GA if the operating costs aren't too high.

Don't forget the Lightning. It will cruise conservatively at 135 knots, at least mine does and it is still for sale at very competitive price.

  11. We are running the Jabiru 3 litre which gives us a cruise of 135 knots. We compared the Morgan Sierra with the Jabiru 230 and much prefered the Sierra. If you run through our posts (my son-in-law Kevin who bought the aircraft is;- KJFAB) on the Morgan Forum you will see all the reasons there.

Why not fly down to Tarree one day and check them out.

Incidentally I believe that the reason there are not many JOEY 2's around is because they are fibreglass and some people are unable or don't like working with fibreglass.

Not so sure about the last sentence. Many have built Jabirus, I have a Lightning and they are all fibreglass. I am sure that those who choose to build either with metal or fibreglass can get copious help and support from like minded builders.

  12. I agree with the comments above. No complaints about getting the mag on the 5th day of the month. Previously mine was always long after everyone else but it seems they have the distribution issue resolved as well. I've yet to read it all but the articles and layout look very good. My thanks to the editors and publishers.012_thumb_up.gif.cb3bc51429685855e5e23c55d661406e.gif

On the 2nd day of the month (August) the magazine arrived in my country mailbox at 6.45am. Amazing! The content was very good.011_clap.gif.c796ec930025ef6b94efb6b089d30b16.gif

  13. Hi to you all,Just wondering if anyone has received their RAA mag this month.

    Pete

Today is the 26th May, still no magazine. Unless I am badly informed and there is a difficulty somewhere, the non-arrival of the May edition shows inept management and a disregard for the members who are the customers. This is the latest period in a month that I have not received our magazine.

Please let us have some answers, not excuses.
