I'm flying a Supapup Mk4 out of The Oaks.

Not many hours on it yet but I'm getting there.

It's serial #11 built early 2002. I bought it in January from Lew

Mathews who built it. This was Lews' 2nd Supapup build, last I heard he

was just finishing an Aeropup, he sold me the Supapup to buy the engine

    for the Aeropup.

  2. Provided the figures are accurate and there is nothing to indicate that they are not' date=' [/quote']

Sorry, but there is everything to indicate that these

figures are garbage, not necessarily intentionally but the range of sources

that the author used means that they are comparing unrelated figures.

When you select apparently related figures from different sources you usually

find that the figures were, naturally, compiled using different criteria, to

suit the purpose of the person assembling that particular data. So when you get

a third person trying to relate 2 figures from 2 sources you get a predictable

result, GIGO, garbage in, garbage out.

While logic would indicate that these derived figures would

be close such figures are often wildly misleading and you don’t know which you

have unless you have good data to validate against, in which case you have no

reason to use the dodgy data.

I deal with this sort of data all the time and unless you can validate the data

back to a common origin it's best consigned to the collex bin.

  3. The pub is Innaminka and the 2 storey building in the background is the old hospital.

I was up there some years back (4WD not flying).

From memory Tuesday night the pub has a roast dinner and Saturdays was Surf and Turf. Don't know how fresh the surf was though, we left the day before.

We tried to get to Burke & Wills dig tree but the Cooper was flooded, told you it was a while back.

The other strips, no idea but knowing this one might give the others a hint as to which direction to look.

If you have a look at myphotos above you'll see a couple of shots with the flap down but the aileron neutral. So I would assume they are independant. One shot has a bit of droop on the aileron but judging from the others I think the stick was over.

Whether you could link the ailerons as flaperons I don't know. Afraid I was just grabbing some photos for Rodger, I wasn't talking to the vendors.

I can't talk from years of experience or any great insights, I can only offer my thoughts that went into my choices.

To go with my recently purchased plane I bought a set of Screw-Its at Narromine based on a recommendation at the time and various favourable conversations I had had over the prevoius 12 months.

I chose 6mm nylon rope to go with the Screw-Its for a couple of reasons.

    1. 6mm is big enough to undo tight knots with frozen hands at dawn.

    2. Nylon has some give so if the plane gets lifted the attach points are not subjected to massive shock loads as the rope takes up.

    3. Nylon anchor rope is generally UV stabilised.

    4. Easy to splice (if you want to)

Choosing the rope size based on handling negated the strength issue as the breaking strain is 735kg so each rope is capable of holding more than double the 340kg MTOW of my plane.

I haven't used them yet, but then I bought them on the basis that the first time I needed them it would be too late to be thinking about buying them.

    BTW It's WHITE

Hope these cover what you're after, I've got more but they pretty well cover the same ground. I've cropped, reduced the resolution and increased compression substantially before posting, if you want the original, full photos drop me a line and I'll trickle them through to your private mail.
