>At least neither one ever even hesitated at flight revs<
Guess-to-mate
Have you tried electrical spray cleaner on the terminals, ? contamination, the connections could look clean but have a film over them nudge the spade connectors a little tighter.
Module a AND b have one connection in-common , so for that to be the case, Original A would have to short depriving B of power. Why would a short go away at rpm?
I vote for the cabling, How much is the stainless covered loom$
I believe before it was not covered, and was upgraded to improve reliability, may also force more stress where it is not covered
Lets hope you have solved it anyway
Good luck
Have you tried Matronics they have a rotax forum not sure how popular it is.

Is there an excessive RPM drop when testing
ignition systems independently?
YES
Ä
1. Check carburetors first. Activate choke. If there is a change, sus-
pect the carburetors.
2. Clean grounding terminals
3. Check pick-up coil gaps
4. Swap the position of the red charging coil wires to the electronic
modules. If the problem remains on the same mag, the charging
system is OK. If it shifts, the stator coil, its wiring or its grounding
are faulty.
5. Swap positions of the pick-up coil connectors. If the problem shifts
there is a faulty pick-up.
6. Install new spark plugs, inspect spark plug caps and measure their
resistance and the secondary coil’s resistance.
7. Swap ignition module A with module B, measure their primary coil
resistance (on new style modules the ground goes through the
connector). If the problem moves, there is a faulty ignition module.

A few more straws to grab at
Some Ads, sounds like grounding.
To increase the TBo Hours on some engines says something about replacing the stator etc >> ie known problems
Civil Aviation Safety Authority - Piston engines
otax Piston Engines
AD/ROTAX/2 Ignition Electronic Module 3/95 TX
Applicability: All 912 A series engines with serial numbers 4,076.062 to 4,076.220 inclusive.
Requirement: Inspect, and if necessary, repair the grounding cable assembly on electronics module
Part Number 965 356, in accordance with Bombardier Rotax Mandatory Technical
Bulletin 912-06 dated 21 November 1994.
Note: Austro Control (Austria) AD 80 dated 28 November 1994 refers.
Compliance: 1. Prior to further flight after 12 January 1995, but no later than 31 January 1995.
2. Prior to installation of an electronic module on an engine.
Background: Bombardier Rotax have reported that production machinery problems have resulted in
the electronics module grounding cable lug being incorrectly fitted, this could result
in engine misfiring or stoppage. This Directive requires the cable lug to be inspected
for correct installation.

Thanks I had tried a 7 inch before, still way to small, maybe time to put my fat fingers on diet, Will give Des a try, thought I may have missed something as I still find new things Thanks Again

I also have used the ozi for a long time.
Have you worked how to make the GO_TO Button BIGGER
I find even on a 5" screen it just is too small in an emergency.
I have tried the screen designer but it won`t do.
The idea would be make the fonts larger in the wp list and increase the goto button size.
Any ideas? thanks

Worlds first Open Source manned aircraft. Through the generosity of the family of the late Charles Ligeti, and the active contribution of his son Ron, an accomplished aeronautical engineer, the Ligeti Stratos has been made available as what is hoped to be the first of a complete line of Open Source aircraft.
The Ligeti Stratos, a strikingly beautiful joined-wing microlight which cruises at 112 kts on 1.3 gph was originally designed and flown 20 years ago in Australia
Ligeti Stratos: World's first open source aircraft
Here is a chance for People with technical ability to change aviation, there will also be a 2 seat version . Great concept Open Source

Airband radios international? Taking a hand held air band transceiver radio overseas
Are there any countries where an Au radio won`t work? (not talking about each countries Licensing)
Thanks Tony

Thanks Wags I will look into it
Thanks Luke and Ahlocks this is great just what I was after.
Thanks again everyone
The downside is there are missing council fields Example Tyagarah
Ok now converted with Oziexplorer with the names in place
In attachment
Airfield.txt
oziExplorergoogle.kml open in google earth
airfields.wpt put in data folder ozice

Great write up Ross.
For people who have a windows ce gps with the map on the sd card an not wanting to
hack the gps there is away.
No hack method
In my case when I start my gps I can choose 6 functions
Navigation, mp3, read pdf, movie/ picture.
With this software it creates a second menu, so when You click on Navigation a second menu pops up with 3 choices.
1 The original navigation software
2 Oziexplorer
3 Igo8 navigation what you add is your choice
Getting Started
Sd card reader or active sync (sd card reader about $10)
1 Download menu.zip
2 Look for the exe that starts your gps in the SD card
(My case Folder MobileNavigator> MobileNavigator.exe Rename the folder to Navigator
3 Make a new Folder name it MobileNavigator put the files in this folder and rename the
menu.exe to MobileNavigator.exe
5 Open mapcfg.ini with notepad and edit it to suit your programs.
[bUTTON1]
EXEPATH=\Navigator\MobileNavigator.exe
ENABLED=1
CAPTION=laser
[bUTTON2]
EXEPATH=\OziExplorerCE\OziExplorer.exe
ENABLED=1
CAPTION=oz
[bUTTON3]
EXEPATH=\iGO8\iGO.exe
ENABLED=1
CAPTION=igo
FUNCTION=HandCalendar
That`s all Igo/mio/tomtom/route66 all should work just need to rework it.
Back up all your files first if you put this in a new sd card at any time you can whip out this card and replace it with the original no changes to the gps

Would anyone have an Airstrips data base for Oziexplorer .
If not what is the best way to gather and process the info.
And also is there a directory for backyard strips which are just private strips and not for landing there except with an engine out.
Thanks everyone

Howdy anyone have a file with Unlicensed Airports etc in Australia as it was not supplied with the unit
Thanksyou regards

Thank you for the repliesG'day.. I wouldn't be stalling while slipping if i were you...cheersThat was the point of the question," Avoiding"
Short field landing being closer to the stall, and the angle of attack keeping, the nose low what would you say would be the slowest air speed ( loaded question )
This all so comes about no matter how many stalls you pratice it will never be the same close to the ground, in ground effect, engine out, windmilling, etc.
I found this a cross wind simulator get like a million hours practice in an hour
think about it really 1000 landings gives you how many seconds of flare to touch down
http://www.xwindsim.com/xwind200.php
watch the video http://www.xwindsim.com/media/xwind200.wmv if windows won`t play it (no codec) just download free video player better than microsoft

thanks again:hug:
Oshkosh audio interview really good

same if the above won`t work in mp3 format

What is the best way to get a stol aircraft down with slips?
The question comes about due to the Pitot being on one side.
Say a zenith 701 stol 30knot stall
So one can expect slipping left and right would give differrent results for air speed + no cross wind / and cross wind 90 degrees plus and minus say 20 degrees + delay of the asi
And practice slip stalls at altitude what can go wrong
Thank you in advance
Tony

NTBA <<<< that is the address with more about the circuit
Your right about the transistor with that circuit you can go with a Darlinghton to handle more power and keep the parts count the same .
The key feature was the 1 second timer *flashing led*
