1. Thanks for posting .. Such a remarkable aircraft and what great service it gave . I believe the paticular airplane in the video was reg XV147 . It also did a fly by at Birmingham Airport , my ex spotting base , some time later I am reliably informed . One of the remaining two aircraft is to position from RAF Brize Norton to Brutingthorpe on 25th Sept , quite possibly the last ever VC10 flight . I was privileged to see one flying last year during my time in the UK... I'll always remember the sight and sound .Dave C

Some confusion as to the serial of this VC10, It was supposed to be XV147 but when one of the other spotters took a closer look at his photos turns out it was ZA150. This sadly was the final sortie, One aircraft is being flown to Bruntingthorpe on the 25th for preservation and display
2. That TSR2 engine no.1 is still on Ebay - no takers yet.It sure was a hard road to finally arrive at the Tornado. The TSR2 and the British Phantom debacle remind me of that saying, "Military aircraft have four dimensions - height, length, width and politics."

Can't remember the author.

Cheers, Willie.

3. Not a complaint, mate ... just a recollection of an old fart of "the good old days" of film technology. There are a lot of pluses - a lot - which come from digital photography, but the strobe effect evident here is not, to my mind one of them, and that is definitely not your fault. As an aside, it seems to me as well, that digital cameras are less able to cope with high-contrast conditions; I think the technical term used is "latitude", or lack of it.

I was only yanking your chain mate!, I think it all depends on the rpm's of the prop, the fps rate of the camera and the quality of the light. Check out these vids filmed in much better light conditionshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCxpl3jhc0Mhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gu5wCsrzzts
4. Don't you just love the way digital cameras give that "feathered/barely rotating" look to props?Maybe some digi-guru out there knows how to eliminate it - and no, I'm not suggesting the Merlins be replaced by jets...

Two and half hours I waited in a field to film that and all you get is bloomin' complaints!
