Thanks Rob, I am used of flying into Archerfield and Bankstown with set points. Did you have your Transponder on 3000 when you called inbound?
-
Where did you call inbound and at what altitude. I will stay under Class C.
-
From the South - Port Alma or Mount Morgan I'm guessing.
-
Good Stuff, I am headed up there in the next couple of weeks, where did you call inbound?
-
Hi Rob, how did you go with this. What did you end up doing?
-
I'll second this, has his own strip with little traffic. I did a GA conversion there a couple of years ago and still go out there now to hire and say hi.Try John Walmsley at Coominya Flight Training. Near Atkinson Dam between Gatton and Esk. Contact and directions on the web site.http://www.coominyaflighttraining.com.au/contact_usDWF

Gee David that has come up real well... you have done a great job. I would be very interested to be kept up to day on the test flying mate!

Yes better climb performance but have you noticed the drag on final - very high.I like the green one, I did my first solo in that plane. That extra blade on the prop gives it so much better climb performance, doesn't it? -
No not me I was at workWere you flying on the 21st Dec? I saw someone doing a preflight on the 3041 when we got back. I was helping John refuel. That was a good flight, we did a departure to Watts Bridge and back.... It was nice to get out of the circuit area, and see a different part of the world Tony -
Hi Nightmare, I fly out of YBCM. I usually hire the "Green" one. I might see you out there one day! I have a couple of go pros, they are great to review your flight. My first flight of 2016. I did more solo circuits this morning at YBCM (Coominya), inching my way closer to my RPC. I got a GoPro for xmas but forgot to bring today.... sorry! The weather looked like it was going to be ordinary, I was kind of expecting to hear from my instructor that todays lesson would be cancelled, but it was perfect weather, the clouds stayed well above circuit height and the wind was calm at aerodrome level. I was kinda hoping to have a slight x-wind, I need more practice with them, but no problem, I know I lucked out today. -
RIP Ross. I didn't meet you however your contribution to aviation is second to none.

Awesome Kev, can we have some inside shots?
-
That looks fantastic, well done. You are in a beautiful part of the world to fly this around, I believe you are near Forster? I used to go there on holidays as a kid. Can't wait to hear how the first flight goes.

Will do Garfly - that would be fantastic. Always keen to meet and chat about aviation.

Thanks all for the replies. They all help a lot. Garfly I am looking at doing the trip in the next few months. I will then fly on to Warnervale to pick up my brother and head to to do victor 1. I'm planning on taking a week or so and hope the weather cooperates.. If not I will take a little longer.

This is excellent, I am about to do a similar trip however a bit further down to Cessnock.. great post and a good read.

Hey Guys,
Any route advice for a route from YBCM (Coominya) to YCNK (Cessnock)? Looking at flying down there to see some family and take them for a fly. Any experiences would be appreciated. I will stay OCTA. There is a lot of Restricted areas down near Williamtown however the VFR route looks ok along the railway track albeit a bit low.
Thanks

Good work Kevin, great to see more of these flying around soon. I would love to go for a fly in one of these, all the feedback I hear is always good.
-
Make sure you get plenty of photos Garry.

3 people is all I want atm.So you're going to try and carry four people on an RPL? -
Good work Derek, when I converted to RAA from GA it was uncomfortable for me. John helped me through that at Coominya too, and now it's feels normal. Where is your plane based? Coominya? I don't think I have seen you around.
-
Hi Guys,
Are there any VH registered Cougars flying? Would be interested to find out more on the 4 seat capabilities. I have an RPL with Nav endorsement and will be looking for a 4 seater soonish.
