  1. Hi, I dived on this wreck yesterday in Tahiti. It looks a little like a Catalina but the bottom part of the fuselage is buried in the sand so I couldn’t see if it had the round holes for the retracted wheels… can anyone confirm?
  2. Yeah, it’s a very old photo, probably taken by my father who was a missionary in those days in the far eastern WA goldfields, north east of Laverton. Possibly the 50’s or early 60’s.
  3. Thanks, reckon you’re right - Piper Tri Pacer. Cheers
  4. Hi, can anyone ID this aircraft for me please?
  5. Does anyone have a contact # for an L2 in Adelaide? Thanks
  6. Hi, a friend of mine has damaged his right hand undercarriage leg in Sth Aus and is looking for a replacement. Anyone know of any around Australia? Cheers
  7. Thanks, we ended up getting one already, but I’ll keep it in mind if we end up doing the other wing. Cheers
  8. Hi, I’m trying to source some two-pack K-134 epoxy adhesive. Does anyone know a source of this in Australia? One forum posy said T-88 is a possible substitute but as it’s for a wing, I need to know if it’s a truly suitable substitute or not. cheers
  9. Thanks, yes, that's where we have ordered 4 from, but they can't make the 5th until end Jan 2023, so just trying to source one earlier if possible. Cheers
  10. Hi, I'm looking to see if anyone has a spare Skyfox Gazelle aluminium aileron hanger available - source 4 but need 5 to repair right hand wing.
  11. I also returned to flying after 10 years out of the saddle, Jan/Feb this year at Whitegum, in the Foxbat. Nice plane and enjoyed the experience. After enjoying a few different types of RA aircraft this year I have ended up coming back full circle to GA and am now wearing the "RV grin", loving flying a very nice RV-7A out of YNTM. Enjoy and maybe we'll catch up sometime around the Perth area. Rgds, Phil
  12. If an aircraft manufacturer offers a range of different engine types with their aircraft from the factory, is it permissible under the regulations to change the engine to a different type after the aircraft is registered (24 rego), as long as the new engine is one of those which can be delivered from new by the factory?
  13. Are you doing a rebuild on the one in your back yard?
  14. Hi, Just wondering if anyone knows if it is possible/legal to convert a CA21 or CA22 to a Gazelle by changing the undercarriage? Cheers
  15. My mobile number is 0438732280, cheers, Phil
  16. Hi BoxFat, I haven't joined a club yet, but Bindoon is not too fat away from where I live in the Swan Valley. I'd love to come up and have a look, so maybe PM me your mobile # and we can catch up soon. I'm going to the. Busselton Aerofest tomorrow, so can't come up your way this weekend. Cheers
  17. Sounds like a plan! I live in the Swan Valley, so right in my neck of the woods. I'm also thinking of coming up sometime and getting checked out to fly a Jabiru. Been flying the Foxbat out of White Gum recently, so looking to try new machines... My brother-in-law has a Xenon Gyro and went with the Bindoon club last year on the trek up north (ningaloo). Enjoyed going up with him recently too...
  18. By the way, where do you hire the Champ from? Would love to have a go in a tail dragger sometime...I'm still a baby riding a tricycle! :-)
  19. Hey Riley, I rang the aeroclub when I was still looking at flying down and they said we don't need an ASIC to just visit for the day. They can organise a "visitors pass", so don't let that stop ya, go for it!
  20. Are you flying or driving? I'm driving, unfortunately...
  21. Me too, just got back flying after 10 years, so looking forward to my first Aerofest!
  22. Anyone else going to the Busselton Aerofest on Sunday?
  23. Those FK9's look like a sweet machine! Would love to fly one of their new Mustang replicas - wonder if we'll ever see one of those in Aus...
  24. Thanks magishme, enjoyed flying out of Archerfield back in the early nineties...Hempels Aviation was still in operation in those days...good to hear you've joined the RA fraternity....cheers
  25. Yes, very nice aeroplane, not the world's fastest, but very predictable. It's the only RA aircraft I have flown in the left seat (flown Tecnam and Xenon Gyro in the right seat) so not much to compare at this stage. I'm particularly interested in the idea of folding wings, so would like to try a Gazelle and maybe a Eurofox too...if I can find any to fly in WA.
