  1. welcome aboard mate. I joined the site in January (after buying my first light sport aircraft) and there is such a wealth of knowledge and information. it's great to have the backup of everyone on the site to help with any questions you might have. From Airline pilots to new pilots, everyone has something they can learn from others. good luck!
  2. thx. have installed a breather elbow on each with baffle built in. the positive pressure seems to be making a difference
  3. thanks guys, have just ordered two of the elbow fittings. Hope I can fit them right
  4. thanks. have you got a web address for them?
  5. oh yeah. hadn't thought of that. bloody things get into everything !
  6. Had a look today and found the grommit. removed it and fuel pressure is perfect right up to 10,000ft. thanks :)
  7. would I work if I put a T-piece in at the collector to join the two lines, then used the spare as a breather, running it to a T-piece on the fuel return line for the engine (where it comes through the cabin)?
  8. if the fuel pressure gauge is under reading due to the internal pressure diff, then maybe there is a smal bubble in the top of the collector that expands with altitude until the float drops enough to set off low fuel light? I know I could put a breather in the top of the collector but I'm not sure how to, and don't want to cut holes in the collector without sealing properly
  9. thanks I'll have a look. the low fuel light eventually went off after I descended to about 2000ft
  10. I've been having low fuel pressure. On the ground and up to about 5500ft it's is within range but after that it drops progressively to almost nothing on the gauge. Even with electric pump on it only increases slightly. then after a short time the low fuel light comes on. The engine never misses a beat however. anyone have any ideas what's going on??
  11. So that's a yes?......I have another idea but it involves a large amount of shoe laces :)
  12. what about those tonneau tie downs they use on ute trays. Do you think they would be ok? (and legal)
  13. has anyone got a good idea to replace the cowl clip/screws. the ones I have are really hard to clip/screw (half turn) in and even when they do I found they can come undone in flight. I'd prefer a latch system of some sort.
  14. might try getting a steel one made. I don't really have the tools.
  15. Does anyone know what/how to replace the sav nose wheel axle. I believe it is a weak point as the attachment bolt is in shear and there have been incidents where it has broken causing major damage. I was hoping to replace it with something stronger.
  16. nice set up. I do find the PFD display easier then scanning multple dials.
  17. yep. think the battery is on the way out. did same at boonah
  18. thanks for the input guys. Gives me a lots of options. Love this sports aircraft category.
  19. thanks. yes it is a 19 rego, so I hope that means I should be ok
