Help me understand......I am learning in a J160 (out of the Camden area)....I look at the stats. and the incident reports and still cannot see how or why this aircraft should have a "downgraded" safety record. It would seem to me that all previous production problems (piston rings?...bolts?...) have been addressed.

Am I missing something ? (next lesson on Friday, so prompt replies appreciated !!)

Thanks all - FYI, TAL (Tower Life) have no restrictions on LSA for up to 100 hrs flight time per. year. ATM, I would only dream of being able to do 100 hrs per. year - so their premiums were quite competetive.

Now completed my third hour at the Oaks (NSW) - we were flying there last Thursday when the Jabiru had to make the emergency landing. Unfortunately my wife saw the TV reports and has now moved from tacid acceptance of the lessons to....get some insurance.

So, to keep her happy, I will investigate life insurance this week - to give me a headstart can anyone recommend a provider that accepts recreational flying - either unconditionally or with a premium loading?

Hello, After a TIF with one of the Bankstown schools last week, I decided to look further afield and found Dave at the Oaks. First logged hour with him today - he made me feel very comfortable. I'm planning to try for 2 hrs. per. week.
