  1. Last week we flew to Tábor in the Czech Republic for the last three days of the 2022 World Junior Gliding Championships. The trip was fun and it was great to be there. In the Club class, the United Kingdom was declared the winner. In the Standard Class, Germany won and also triumphed in the country teams. A participant from Australia was involved in a mid-air collision during the tournament, but luckily all remained unharmed.

  2. Hi Rene, that is a lot of history covered in such a short flight.  The forts are interesting.  From the fact there is not much structure left I'm guessing that they were mostly wooden.

Hi Peter. It's a lot of history packed in a small country that happens to be in the strategic river delta of the Rhine and Meuse.

The Defense line of Amsterday forts are concrete structures with an earth layer on the side facing where the enemy would come from. They are still there, although most of them not open to the public.

See this page about Fort Spijkerboor that we visited recently

  3. The original plan for a trip to the French Alps did not materialize. The weather was just not good enough for the trip. But we made good with some nice flights, and also I did the two-yearly training flight. The weather would not be good in the weekend. On Friday we returned the plane to its base. But not before we made a visit to Bremen.
