  1. Hi Guy's ,

I am doing some research on a 1996 Airborne Edge , 582 Grey Head , with some success .

I have been able to find serial numbers for the engine & base & the info I needed from that .

I have a number off the Hang Block , E-272 , but can't find any reference to it anywhere .

Does anyone know if the wing can be identified from this ? ie Edge , streak etc ?

I have emailed Airborne , just haven't heard back yet .

    Any help greatly appreciated

    Cheers

  2. Troy, your lucky you have no allergies to bee stings by the sound of it.Being in the case of flying a plane, the situation could have been much worse if you were not on your late final to touch down,as symptoms for bee sting allergies can besevere.

True that . No allergies to bee stings , but allergic to smacking the ground at 60 knots when distracted lol

  3. Better you then me, i'm allergic and have to remove sting as matter of huge priority, second only to not crashing...Was it in the aircraft on takeoff?

    I don't believe so .

My arm was right next to the vent in the canopy and I felt it hit me before it stung !

  4. Beautiful day today .

Sun is shining , birds are chirping & kamikaze Bee's are finding their way through the vent in the canopy & smacking sting first into my left forearm (throttle hand) whilst VERY late on final !

The impact was noticeable , the sting bearable , but the distraction could easily have cost me a pair of underpants :(

I had to leave it hanging there whilst I completed a fairly ordinary landing & taxied clear of the runway .

It got me thinking though , what have others endured or had "throw them" whilst on approach?

    Cheers

  5. Hi All,

    Looking at buying this http://aviationadvertiser.com.au/detail.php?id=4537

It ticks all the boxes for a rank beginner such as myself ie : 2 seater I can continue my training in

    Low Hours

    Four Stroke

    It's actually IN WA !

    Sharp price .

I did some homework on performance , fuel consumption , reviews etc & still keen .

BUT when I went and looked at it I see the MTOW sticker has been changed to 450kgs despite being certified

in South Africa (where it is made) , US & Canada to 560kgs MTOW (see below)

    http://www.aerotrike.co.za/cheetah/Specifications/specifications.html

Can anyone offer a simple explanation or possible solution ?

    Cheers

    Troy
