  1. Hi Ian & All,

I have to say Port Maquarie or surrounds does not seem very far "North".049_sad.gif.af5e5c0993af131d9c5bfe880fbbc2a0.gif

Maybe you could consider somewhere a little further North. Possibly Heck Field (Gold Coast), Watts Bridge, or even Maryborough Qld.

Just mythoughts, let's what everyone else thinks.

No matter how this works out I will be doing my best to get there.:)

    Cheers.

  2. AT LAST, CT 3841 is airworthy and back home in her cosy little shed. And what a delight to fly she is, I'd almost forgotten how good it is.She's only been laid up for 413 days, I guess there's lots of catching up to do now.

    Hi Paul

Do you mean from the post above that your A/C has been out of action for over one year??? What was the problem here, & why such a long period of time???

I think I would die if I had to go that long without playing with my favourite toy!!!

    Cheers.

  3. We keep our aircraft @ Maryborough Qld.

We have suffered due the introduction of this token effort of security. Our clubhouse is airside fronting onto the GA apron ( where else should an AEROCLUB clubhouse be??? ). Hence without an ASIC you cannot get within 50m of the clubhouse. This makes it very difficult for new & interested people to access the clubhouse & club members.

Complements of $800,000.00 of taxpayers money, we have security fencing surrounding the entire aerodrome & electric gates that require a swipe card to open.

Worst of all is that less than a month after the fences were complete, the gates activated & swipe cards issued, our RPT flights ceased to operate.

Of course the local council in control of this is refusing to deactivate the gates or any of the other security measures.

We are just really confused as to what exactly these security systems are supposed to be protecting

  4. Hello Guys & Girls

Just thought I would chip in as a fellow Sportstar operator. I have the privilage of mainly maintaining & sometimes flying the Sportstar that my wife owns. 006_laugh.gif.0f7b82c13a0ec29502c5fb56c616f069.gif

We have had the Sportstar for nearly 2 years now & have logged nearly 150 hours.

Our longest trip so far was 5.1 hours of air time each way. On a long haul like this you really get to appreciate the comfort level of the Sportstar. I am 190cm tall with a long torso & weighover 100kgs 051_crying.gif.fe5d15edcc60afab3cc76b2638e7acf3.gif . There areother aircraft out there that may be a little faster, but I would rather be comfortable for 5 hours than cramped up for 4!!!

Last Xmas I took a matefor a fly, he is taller than me & weighs nearly 130kg!!!! We were still comfortable, but I know alot ofother planes out there we would have had trouble even fitting :) . OK, so we had no weight left to take baggage, &were not able to take on more than 1/2 a tank of fuel, but we still had a great time on a local flight & lots of circuits.

So there you have it, words from another very happy Sportstar operator. I look forward to chatting to more owners on this forum.

    Cheers

    Mick
