Hi all
For the first time I decided to fold my wings back on my Gazelle (for road transport trailer)
as I have done so many times on the skyfox (tail wheel) without a problem,
Hence when the last wing was folded back the aircraft tipped onto is butt ,(giving my heart a couple of misses ) took two of us to get the plane onto its nose wheel ( it want stay on its nose:sad:without the weight of a couple of blocks of concret holding it down )
I have seen pictures of other Gazelles with their wings folded without a problem.
What went wrong?
Ps the tanks were empty
any one have any ideas??:)
happy flying

hi all
I dont get in here much but anyhow, If a students wants to learn to fly the Instructor at the school should ask the student
1. why would like to learn ?
2. what purpose do you have in mind for your flying later on IE: maybe GA? or you could be a property owner on 10000 acres? or just fun?
3. inform the student of what type of aircraft you have on line (some schools only have one some have 3 or more different types)
3. If students wants to travel around aussie land then a HP aircraft maybe the go
4. A Property owner just wants to fly around to check fences & pumps then a LH aircraft maybe the go
5. Heaps of pilots run rage and tube LH out back QLD there strong and can handle the rough strips (what strips)
6. For new students doing the rounds looking at different schools and what they have to offer, I suggest ask the school what planes they have on line, if they have a few different types go for a TIF on all of them and go for the one your comfortable in and meets your neads NOT the instructors neads
just my thoughts
ill pop in again sometime \cheers

hey Kev dont give up it will all fall into place I could be wrong but sounds like your rudder chasing for the centre line I tell students stop line the aircraft up to the centre of the runway forget the white line, aim for a point at the end of the strip if your going recreational dont forget 95% of your runways are going to be dirt or grass so wheres your centre line and piano keys then, try a grass strip while training you want have to worry about the center line have the aircraft heading for the point you pick at end of runnway for take off your feet will do your walking 4 you
just another hint i know some students that were learning in a jab with another school they had done 30hrs plus not solo yet, they were going to give it away, there flying was no prob but, when coming into land everything went to fast for them I sujested a plane change to like a gazelle, (Funny they asked me what a Gazelle was) there was one in their flying school, told them what the difference would be, they did the change and went solo after a few lessons with a big smile on their face Ive flown warriors since 1972 gave it away for 10yrs due to fees being to high $19.50 hr and i was only earning $20 for a 35hr weeks boy times change my first aircraft i jumped into when i decided to start again was a T500 Thruster
sorry i woffel to much
