  1. It was nice getting these done. The ends were challenging and the manual wasn't that helpful. I
  2. Sorry I'm going so fast through this but I'm trying to get back in the garage as we speak.
  3. I'm short on space so I mounted the box on wheels, cut the top in half and put hinges on it to make myself a movable storage space/workbench
  4. I did it backwards and had the engine delivered first.
  5. Well I did a welcome thread and was ask to open one with this title. I guess some are considering the Viking engine. I bought my Savannah kit a year ago in January and am about 300 hours into the build. I decided on the Viking 130 at the recommendation of a friend who had previously built a Savannah with a Rotax. He loved the airplane but thought the performance could have been better. He sold that airplane and built a Zenith 750 with a viking 110. So as you can see he has experience with both the Savannah and Viking. Anyway I took his advice and here I am. I'll try to catch the forum up with past pictures of my build up to now. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
  6. I have a 2015 kit and manual. But I'm not sure. Thanks for bringing this up I will check into it.
  7. That's ok, I've been reading a lot of information here and it's helped me with my build. The least I can do is answer a few questions.
  8. Jan did supply the engine mount. I'm using a 701 cowl. From my preliminary trials it looks like it will fit well. Maybe not as pretty as the new Savannah cowl though.
  9. It's just under 2 hours to Zanesville from Akron.
  10. Ok I'll do that, I have a ton of photos. Not a ton of time but I'll work on it.
  11. Yeah I'm pretty nervous about it also. I'm mounting as much equipment as I can as far aft as I can for that reason. I'll let you know how it turns out.
  12. Yes I've seen that video. I also have a buddy who put a 110 in a Zenith 750. He had previously built a Savannah before the S model came out. He is the one who originally recommended both the Savannah and the Viking 130 to me.
  13. Yeah I heard about that one recently. I'm a little concerned about weight also. I've mounted my batteries as far back in the tail as I could. I did the same with the header tank.
  14. Ha, not sure of the full wet weight but I weighed it when I got it and it was 224 pounds. That was with nothing installed. Although you can see its a pretty clean install.
