Been a busy week in Ingham NQ returning a classic Cessna 310 R to the air. The aircraft had sat idle for several years awaiting a new owner. It was getting very close to not being airworthy again. The aircraft had endured more than a couple of good cyclones and flooding at the Ingham airport over the recent years. After 3 days hard labor on engines, fuel system and landing gear the first test flight was carried out early Friday morning with the new owner/pilot and his engineer on board.

All went well and they departed Ingham around 10 am for the long ferry to the aircrafts' new home at Cootamundra NSW via fuel stops at Charleville and Walgett. After an uneventual flight with ground speeds of around 180-190 Kts the aircraft landed at Cootamundra around 5.30 PM. Well done boys, it will be great to see this aircraft again after a paint job and further refurb.......the R model is noted for its very large nose baggage compartment and the 285 HP engines..........Maj....

Was that aircraft owned by a local politician a while back, seem to remember that call sign at Shute. Took the whole length to get airborne.
