Deskpilot
Thought this would interest those of you who like planes of yesteryear. The Poor Farm: Oldest Boeing Airliner In Flying Condition I came across a video about the rebuilding of this plane and will post a link when I can find it again. markendee
Thanks Doug, This story contains the lot. Classic aircraft, great story on finding the plane, fascinating rebuild and fun flying. (Perhaps a tail wheel endorsement is in order) Even Addison came across as a good scout. Saving the YT clip to show the mates. Mark

Guest ozzie
Here are a couple of photos i took of it at the last Airventure. Walking around this huge aircraft i had a vision of a poor pilot at night, rugged up with ice hanging off him, battleling on thru the crap whilst a party raged on inside. there was a family camped with it so i supossed they just piled in with all the camp gear and dad flew them home. too cool hey. the goldern age of aviation. several different makes with the same configurationwere parked nearby. hauling mail was a big buck biz back then. pilot comfort was an afterthought. ozzie
