kaz3g
RVAC COLDSTREAM OPERATION CLOSED RVAC G.A Operations ceased on August 1st. G.A. training is expected to re-commence in approximately 1 week under a different Air Operators Certificate. ‘The RVAC Coldstream operation has now officially closed and Bob Boyd is operating the combined GA and RA school as "Yarra Valley Flight Training". Other than that, nothing has changed. To mark the occasion there will be a Spit Roast lunch on 13 August. Everybody is welcome. For me it marks the end of 51 years and about 10,000 hours of flying with RVAC, first as a student then as an instructor. During this time I have been CFI three times, twice with less than a day's notice to avoid our operation being suspended, and a test officer (ATO), and sometimes the only ATO, since 1977. In the years when I also did the theory classes an estimated 1,200 students from all over the airport went through the Club's system and in one year, the ground school made more profit than the flying school ! The end of a very enjoyable era for me. Best wishes to you all.’ Dick Gower kaz
