AWPA SA/NT Branch Memorial Incentive Award

 

To financially assist a current South Australian/Northern Territory AWPA member, in any commendable aviation endeavour.

 

Applicants must have a current Aviation Medical, be a resident of SA or NT, hold current AWPA membership and have belonged to the SA or NT branch of AWPA for at least 2 years.

 

Value: variable.

 

Applications close on 1 March 2012.

 

The Nancy-Bird Walton Memorial Trophy

 

Donated by the family of the late Nancy-Bird Walton

 

To be awarded for the most noteworthy contribution to aviation by a woman of Australasia. Membership of AWPA is not a requirement. Nominations must be received in writing, with a seconder.

 

Closing date for nominations is 10 March 2012.

 

Mrs. Harry (Lores) Bonney Award

 

Donated by the late Mrs. H B Bonney

 

To be awarded to a woman who completes a record breaking flight, or valiant attempt at such, or who represents Australia at World Championship level, or who undertakes a legitimately recognised flight of significance in the spirit of Lores Bonney’s record-breaking achievements.

 

The applicant must be female and a resident of Australasia. Membership of AWPA is not necessarily a requirement.

 

Perpetual trophy and personal memento.

 

Applications close 21 March 2012.

 

Gliding Award

 

This award is made for the most meritorious gliding flight by a female glider pilot during the previous year, or for an outstanding contribution to the advancement of gliding in Australia.

 

Membership of AWPA is not a requirement.

The AWPA RA-Aus Student Pilot Scholarship (two)

 

Sponsored by Aero Refuellers

 

To provide financial assistance to two female RA-Aus student pilots to complete their Pilots Certificate. Applicants must have a minimum of 5 hours total flying time in powered aircraft.

 

Membership of AWPA is a requirement.

 

Value: Up to $1,000 on a ‘dollar-for-dollar’ basis.

 

Applications close 21 March 2012.

 

Soaring Scholarship

 

Sponsored by AWPA

 

To assist a female glider pilot to enhance her cross-country skills. Scholarship funds can be used for, but not limited to, assisting a sailplane pilot with towing charges, glider hire or to cover retrieval costs.

 

Applicants must be a permanent resident of Australia, and hold a silver C badge and a current Glider Medical Certificate. Membership of AWPA is not a requirement.

 

Value: $500 on a ‘dollar-for-dollar’ basis.

 

Applications close 18 March 2012.

 

AWPA WA Branch Aviation Award

 

To assist a female pilot (resident in WA) in gaining her General Flight Progress Test (GFPT) or Private Pilot’s Licence (PPL). Membership of AWPA is not a requirement.

 

Value: $1,000 on a ‘dollar-for-dollar’ basis

 

Applications close 31 March 2012.
