Guest fly
Hi All, What's the opinion regarding the need for a cht guage on a water cooled R582 if you run a temp guage regards/thanks..Fly
Deskpilot
G'day Fly, I'm not an engine expert but, personally I can't see the need to have both. Logic say's that the water controls the head temp. Maybe it's a case of 'belts and braces' Cheers, Doug

Guest Teenie2
I think it would a good practice to have both. Why? well the water temp gauge could malfunction and you might never know until its to late, but with a cht gauge you should catch it. Remember on a water cooled engine if you have a large coolant leak the water temp gauge will stop working (it needs the liquid to transfer the heat to the probe)
