Blueadventures
For general information I was just reading about a signalling device called a "Rescue laser flare light" selling for about $150. It lasts about 40 hours use and gives a fan of laser light that is used in the marine distress situations. Would be a good addition to the emergancy pack on board our aircraft. Only small. Some one may be able to load up the product details onto this site. Cheers Mike
Sapphire
It's a line of sight device and you have to point it at your rescuer hopefully without blinding him or them. Plenty of that going on in non rescue situations.
Blueadventures
Hi this one is specific for attracting search aircraft. Not a pin point laser beam but a fanned out beam. Looks a good thing. Cheers Mike
Sapphire
Had a better read. Don't know how close in reality a gps elb will bring recuers but being able to signal them with an efficient light as they approach is an advantage, especially if you are hanging from a tree, the ledge of a cliff or some unaccessable area. If the rescue helecopter has to land far away you can signal the ensueing foot search.
