ArcherFallsAirfield Posted August 13, 2013 Share Posted August 13, 2013 Hi there, Archer Falls Airfield is midway Kilcoy to Woodford north of Brisbane, we're on google earth....1253 Neurum Road Mount Archer, or log on to www.archerfalls.com.au It's taken us a while to get around to registering......we're still getting the hang of online...so be patient with us....but we did want the chance to invite you all to visit... We welcome visitors pretty well anytime (if we know you are coming), but also want to share an invitation to our next fundraising event...we run a few each year in support of RFDS ARCHER FALLS AIRFIELD FLY IN DRIVE IN - it's our 4th this year.....October 5 & 6 2013, we're hoping to see old friends and meet new ones. The weekend offers Show'n'Shine with prizes - for aircraft, unique and classic cars and bikes, displays of various types, plenty of food and drink with thanks to our Kilcoy Lions Club - from cooked breakfasts (7am onwards) through both days including BBQ lunch There's plenty of camping available, and on the Saturday night we have a two course dinner, with live entertainment, and a licenced bar until late (best book as numbers to this are limited - $25pp) The event is held to raise funds for RFDS, last year the total funds raised were $10,000, this year the target is higher....brought to you be local community, Wings of Life, Kilcoy Lions, Rural Fire Brigade and local business, and we are always looking for more who might want to join in... BTW.....pilots fly in and camp free, though as we fundraise for RFDS, we ask passengers to purchase tickets on arrival: Day tickets adult $10, Child 3-12 $5, Child under 3 Free.... Weekend ticket includes entry both days and camping Saturday night - Adult $25, Family (two adults and up to 6 kids if you can fit them in) $50....all proceeds to RFDS from entry, camping, food and bar... Food's available from 7am Saturday & Sunday through to about 3-4pm daily - Coffee shop too - Saturday dinner we're aiming for 6pm - 6.30 start...so we can all kick back and relax with music and a refreshment or two.... If you want to join in for the night but don't want to book for dinner you are still welcome..... Pass the word along, we'd love to see you at the event, or let us know when you are coming past to make sure we are there.... ArcherFallsAirfield Posted August 19, 2013 Author Share Posted August 19, 2013 Hey folks, thanks for the likes, trophies and posts.....we're still learning so not sure how to thank you personally, but love the smileys so we'll get there eventually..... in the meantime much work to be done getting ready for the fly in drive in....so better get back to it, we look forward to seeing you there......thanks Rod for your reply..... for anyone who wants to come, you are welcome....if you are bringing a group drop us a line so we can make sure lots of space.....mind you the venue can fit quite a few more comfortably....even the antonov (big yellow bird) had no problems landing and take offs.....it flew all day was quite a novelty.....this year some warbirds, down to paragliders in the mix....and some awesome model plane flyers too....had news a Bren Gun carrier may arrive (like a mini army tank) as he had fun last year while the Light Horse visited.....
