Guest DavidH10
8:57 AEST tonight!someone could work out my latatide/longitude from that.... In my mind I see the shadow of night falling as a line across the Earth's surface that roughly describes a circle with diameter perpendicular to the Sun. Thus there is part of that circle (an arc) that will fall within the physical time zone boundaries for the given last light time and specified timezone. As the Earth is tilted on it's axis, if you could calculate the position of that arc for two dates that were sufficiently far apart that the arcs intersected due to the changed inclination, then "X" would mark the spot. Apart from not having sufficient data, that level of maths is beyond me. :)

sixtiesrelic
Too wet for birds at present in Brissy. I'm hearing the roar of my creek thirty metres from my bedroom as it shoots down a short rocky rapids section. We usually hear the yellow robin first and last thing when it is almost dark.
