Philster2001 Posted Sunday at 12:49 AM Posted Sunday at 12:49 AM Hi, I have an issue where my Microair M760 makes a loud static grinding noise when the PTT is pressed at revs below about 2000. Anyone receiving only hears the grinding noise, no audio. Installation is in Jabiru J170. Coincidentally, the strobe also makes a significant clicking noise when switched on, not sure if that related or not. No issues at cruise power in the air/circuit. Has anyone seen similar issues? Cheers 1
IBob Posted Sunday at 03:44 AM Posted Sunday at 03:44 AM If there's a loud hissing too, it probably means your coffee is ready??? 1
RFguy Posted Sunday at 03:57 AM Posted Sunday at 03:57 AM sounds like the voltage is a bit low to the radio together with the strobe noises, sounds like wiring is /bad/faulty . 1
Philster2001 Posted Sunday at 04:00 AM Author Posted Sunday at 04:00 AM Thanks I’ll stick a meter on it and see if it increase with revs. The volt meter on the panel doesn’t seem to move but maybe the radio is sensitive. cheers
RFguy Posted Sunday at 05:24 AM Posted Sunday at 05:24 AM (edited) need to know the voltage at the radio, rather than the battery voltage. See how close you can get a couple of alligator clips to the actual radio voltage. Edited Sunday at 05:24 AM by RFguy
