jcruffle
I really love our Oz wildlife, but when a couple of roos get in to the hangar and break off your transponder antenna, one gets a little peeved!! Has anyone replaced one on a factory built J230D?? Everything seems to be hidden in the centre console. I am keen to hear of any previous experience, perhaps from builders. Guest brentc
Mine was broken by the spray painters. Apparently it has a sheer point at the base. It consists of a removable retaining nut underneath and a bayonet type fitting for the coax on the inside. You'll need to reach inside and outside, undo the nut, unplug, replace, poke back down again and screw in tight. If you can't get to it, then I wish you the best of luck! Mine was around $115 from memory.
quentas
If you `feel` through the lining of the centre console where the txp connector would be, you will see a cut out underneath in the fibreglass (in the side of the console). You can then cut out the lining to access the BNC connector and nut for the antenna. It is tricky but doable.
