    Cockpit Photos

This is the office, a little cluttered but it all works
  2. This may cause laughter, but I think it has little to do with balance, but more to do with how long the plane has been sitting in the one spot ie. weeks or longer and not being moved. I find that after sitting for a period of time you get a flat spot and that is the cause . The reason I say this is because I only get this if one of the planes has been sitting for awhile, if it was balanceI would have thought it would happen every time you took off. I've never owned a Jab so I may be off track although I have the same flat spot thing with my grader.
  3. Before running a 912 in drifters I used only Castrol TTS@50:1 and never had any problems in 503's, ran the 1st one to 500hrs and sold it and never layed a spanner on it. All the rest were run to 800 without touching them. I know of a couple in the area that have been taken to 1100hrs and sentin for a rebuild and were only topped as the bottom end was within spec. The only problem with Castrol now is that they have stopped supplying it in 205L drums and buying it in 1 or 4L packs is way too expensive, the last 205L worked out to about $8/L and that was about 6months ago. Most 2strokes out here are now switching to Active2T, but there is still a problem with that as the bigest container of that now is only 20L drums, rather inconvenient!!
  4. unless you get stuck behine a army of harley boat anchor riders who refuse to travel at a speed anywhere near resembling the speed limit! and slow to a walking pace to go around a corner. (sorry if i offend any harley riders, its not intentional) that annoys me no end. even wrose when im in my RX7, fantastic cornering speed, but not enough punch to our drag race the harleys to the next corner..:black_eye: I'm a Harley rider, but not offended. Just thought I'd point out that there are2 types of harley rider, There is the majority which are RUBS(rich urban bikers.....usually older ,richer and haven't riden for years and couldn't ride in the first place ) Then there Harley riders.A well set up Harley can surprise a few sports bikes in the twisties. I'm the first to admit they are no R1, they were never designed as such. I don't know if I'm biased or not , but I've owned Harleys continually for about 32years, I might add in that time I've alsoowned a couple of BM's aZ1, T500's , A '69 Bonney and a few others as well as a lot of dirt bikes I just find flying is like riding a bike , only it's in 3Dwith a lot less Idiots to get in your way especially out here except goanna tours

  6. Ask Wayne about THAT, we got the colour mixed at a local paint shop, it didnt look right in the tin so we decided it would dry into the proper colour........it didn't and so it stayed , after 6years I'm still not used to it!!!:)
  7. The back seat is a 65l gyro seat, it's a bit squeezy for passengers which gives me a good excuse not to take them with. Gives a combined fuel load of 95L, have a few other modifications to make it more user friendly. One problem I have withthe drifter is water and oil temps or the lack of, as this was a prototype we went to a large radiator(VW golf) and found out that this is too much and have to cover it even in summer. In winter I have the oilcooler and the radiator fully covered and the oil tank and hose's wrapped in insulationand still only manages 80/80c,other than that it's the best mustering bike I've ever had.
  8. Just a couple of pics of my drifter
  9. Thanks for the welcome . How do you post picture's on here?
  10. I'm new in here, so I thought I'd introduce myself. I own a couple of oriinary planes and one proper one (2 cessna's and a kit built Drifter).Use the cessna's as commuters between properties and the Drifter for work. Fly most days depending on work and still learning to fly
