  1. Hi Mathew, did you end up buying? I have just purchased one and at this point think that value for money it is a hard one to beat.
  2. Bacchus, Congratulations on your purchase. I know you have only just made your purchase, but I would be interested in any early observations regarding the flying characteristics of your Allegro. I might be in an opportunity to fly at 2000 (build date 2004) on the weekend. I had a look through the aircraft today with my wife and it looks the part on the ground. My flying background is in a Jabiru UL/D which seems to have a similar flight envelope (90kts cruise, with sufficient payload for two, full fuel and some baggage). My flying would be from Temora then an arc from Snowy Mountains, to Southern Riverina, north to Tamworth. Longer trips would include Sunshine Coast, South Australia, other trips as opportunity presents. The aircraft I'm looking at has a 912 (80hp) with the standard (55l) tank. Has a GPS and transponder which may provide the chance to fly into controlled airspace with appropriate license etc. Any comments would be appreciated. Mathew
  3. Bl:censored:dy Fog !! Drove to Kyabram for weekend to pick up aeroplane Were treated to a pea souper. Maybe next weekend. Thanks Ron for making trip Pic at 11.30 am 3 Degrees C

So if he asked about the hrs, and he said it had done 270 hrs TT since overhaul, I (myself) would automatically think it has done a lot more hrs, or isn't a new engine (from new) for that matter. Sure it wasn't stated in the add, but I guess that is why they supply their contact details? Tomo , If you wish to quote me , please try and read the quote correctly and in text. It is screaming obvious that the engine had done more hours than 270 hrs AFTER being told of the " Overhaul " The question to CONFIRM the engine had done these hours from new was asked prior to being told of the " Tear Down and Inspection " as Rotax describe it which has already been debated. For you to suggest I " LOOK DOWN " on someone because the engine took a bit to start OFFENDS ME NO END !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOOK DOWN on nobody !!!! (comment removed) - mod It used to be said Two ears one Mouth , that translates into Two eyes one finger in Modern Speak. As far as going against me ( removed ) Free world , Free speech Sorry to others not normally like this.
  6. Very nice thought Mark She will probably want to fly back home at some stage for a visit so maybe then:thumb_up: Yes Neil seems like a great bloke as well.
  7. " Good on Ya, do drop into Jamestown for a Cuppa! Did you buy a Hangar as well? or do the wings fold and you can put her in the trailer!? " No folding wings Blueshed , Change in super fund this week , then hangar on the way all being equal , until then pulling favours here and there. Ron Hoey ( Forum member , Savannah builder and pilot from around my way ) is accompanying me to Kyabram this Sunday then fly her home on Monday weather permitting and she will live with Ron's Savvy for a few weeks ( thanks to another aviator with a big heart ) good time to point out the help forthcoming from all directions and how a common interest like aviation brings everyone together ( Pat on the back all !! a great lot ! )
  8. G'day mate , wonder if we put them together , do they breed ?
  9. thanks CFI Could have been the case , I guess in my limited experience , I will be servicing my aircraft ( using the services of L2 ) at intervals reccomended by Rotax , measured by Hobbs , which is set running by Oil Pressure which seems to be the way to go as per Rotax owners Manual
  10. G'day all , I have not contributed to this thread for a while as to be honest the quoting of regulations and application of such IS above my head and better left for those to argue who are well versed in them. Thus my question comes more from a common sense point of view ( imho ) Bill , a question without prejudice and I am not intending to be a smart ar** so a response in the same vein would be appreciated In this case the aircraft is " wheels up " at 40 -45 kts It could quite happily tavel around at say 55kts for hundreds if not thousands of hours never recording squat on the Hobbs meter ( as it activates at 60kts ) Do you think this is acceptale and more to the point lawful ?
  11. He He Ultralights Takes me back to school days. Poor quality phone pic's at this stage , better ones when delivery taken Note close up of Hobbs , someone once told me you have to keep an eye on those little buggers , sometimes they speak with fork tongue !!
  12. Thanks all , as you can probably tell very excited Yes Dave , cheap wine on order to go with the 3 day growth ( saving on Razor Blades )
  13. G'day and welcome Samuell , nice Aircraft the Savvy ! VG , slats or XL ?
  14. For 6 months or more I have been compiling information from this site to assist in the purchase of an aircraft. Today the bullet was bit so to speak , deposit paid , and hope to fly her back in the next week ( weather permitting ) from Vic. For those who have assisted me and may be interested 24-4629 Allegro 2000 was the final decision 97 hrs from new on Rotax 912ULS , BRS to make the trouble and strife feel a little safer. Thanks again for all the help ( this site is a beauty ) and Clear Prop had the best prices on EPIRB , Nav Software and Headsets , to boot !!
  15. With her mind still spinning from the quality of applicant to her latest advertisement , DarkCounsel ( bak) never realised that the " bundle of Happiness" was infact a KAOS plant who had been given instruction to operate behind the lines and create HAVOC:kboom: With a 747 full of regulations , sub regulations and part paragraphs able to TRUMP anyone all seemed lost until ........
