Hi to everyone at RecFlying,
I feel like the luckiest man on earth....I have always wanted to learn to fly but always been too poor/affraid/unsure/busy to do so.
Until my now wife bought me a TIF (my fist of many acronyms, no doubt!)and encouraged me to finally do what I've always wanted. Not only that she's also happy for me to work part-time/casually so that I can make learning a priority. How good is that? ;)
Perhaps 20 years of procrastination will pay off....over those years it's awesome to see the ultralight 'world' develop into the RA scene as a cheaper (and better?) way to learn than via PPL, and to have great sites and communities like this one.
I have been researching schools/clubs to learn with, and Gostner at Camden seems pretty good to me so far. They offer RA all the way to ATPL , but are more expensive than most for say per hour of a J160. The CFI (I think) has 1000 and 1000's of hrs of instruction so perhaps the extra expense will be well worth it. Does anyone have any recommendations or other suggestions? I live on the inner North Shore. And no I'm not wealthy!
Thanks all, I hope my first landing wasn' too 'heavy'!
Chrism
