    Oil thermostat

    X-Air are offering a thermostat for Jab / Rotax engines to maintain oil temp above 100C. Price $220 + P&H. Details on the X-Air web page. Has anyone fitted one of these? Any comments / advice? Thanks, Bill

    Brian, just to clarify. The section of pipe (~30mm long) welded to the muffler does not appear to be cracked at the weld. The exhaust pipe, which has a smaller OD, is inserted into the pipe section on the muffler. From the maint. manual no gasket is used to seal the join. The exhaust gas leak appears to be from between the exhaust pipe / muffler join. It'll be 10 days before I can get to the a/c to check the weld again. Regards, Bill

    Hi Brian, it's where the pipe fits into the muffler. There's a grey dusting on the exhaust pipe, indicating where the gas is escaping. The other three joints are okay. Regards, Bill

    Our J160C has developed a leak at the junction of the RHS rear exhaust pipe / muffler. There is no cracking or corrosion evident. TTIS 160Hrs. Any suggestions / comments appreciated. Thanks, Bill

    Paul, are you the supplier of the RFI filter? We have a Becker 4201 in our J160C & experience a background "buzz" in the receive mode. Assume this is due to RFI from the alternator. Thanks, Bill
