  1. I will put it in my flight diary. I intend to fly up to the hill well before that though.do we all need ASIC Cards to be able to join in this event?

Short answer is no. Long answer ybhi is a controlled airport, the area we will be using will be segregated From the rpt area and we will be providing ASIC holders for escort duties

  4. I beg the indulgence of some posters but I am passionate about the members having a say. I'm not suggesting that the above mentioned people are otherwise inclined as they have both put in an immense amount of work. I hope at the end of all this that a lot of good comes out of it, because so much is at stake. Nev

    WELL SAID FH. I agree.

  6. GA suckers! Sadly the stupid rules you speak of have been written in the blood of pilots over the last 100 years or so!

I could not agree more MM. People breaking the rules is more than half the reason we, (RA Aus) is in the state (s..t) we are in now.

  7. Stayed at the aeroclub accomodation a few months ago when I was passing through in the Xair. Great, cheap accomodation with the use of the clubhouse facilities. Taxi into town is the go, a little far to walk. Very friendly folk at the airport. Yes, you will need an ASIC. Fuel is available. Highly recommended place to visit.

Robinsm. Thanks for the recommendation . We do try , and we really do welcome all visitors .

  9. With airsick's reference to member's list being available to members I don't think he means to ALL member's. I hope he is referring to each member being able to see his own FILE. This would seem reasonable because there may well be notes and comments written there which would be questioned rightly. If there are such comments they should only be there if they would be acceptable to the individual member Nev

FH , The electoral roll is a public doc. Available to all and sundry. Basic info ,name ,address ,occupation. Why should RAAus be any different , providing all other

    notes and comments are deleted.?

  10. I think most members would now know about the problems and in many cases the people not grounded with plenty of rego to go still couldn't give a damn as long as they can go flying.

Sorry "Teckair", cannot agree, the guys in our area are very concerned, not apathetic, regularly vote and try to participate. They just don't all post to the forums.

  11. Nope, suffice to say the owners knew within minutes that their was an issue

I do not believe you, after all the issues of the past regarding openness, etc etc you give this response. If it was GA the world would know.

CASA would make sure of that. Just maybe thats what this org neeeds is for CASA to step inb.

  12. Gday David, I have both ozrunways and air nav. In my opinion ozrunways is far superior in most aspects and features including ease of operation. The one exception is initial flight planning in order to print and have your current charts with you in the aircraft. Air nav is very good in this regard. I find the new app for air nav not a simple process. I recently attended an ozrunways seminar at Renmark SA and found it excellent. The blokes were extremely helpful and knew their stuff, willingly gave one on one. The other thing I like about oarunways is the constant improvement and updating. (I have been using it now since it first hit the market) . Also they offer excellent support and always reply to calls for help in sorting out any issues that I've had. Ozrunways gets my vote.

    Regards Bruce

  13. Is anyone going to the OzRunways seminar at Maitland (RNAC) tomorrow afternoon? If so I will see you there.I am in the market for one of those programs, buggered if I am going to confuse myself with two different programs though, I am just going to choose one and run with it, so this discussion is interesting to me.

    Thanks guys.

  14. I'm a GP who got sick of the rat race and I now do rural and remote locums. when I can I fly myself to the jobs -- based in SA I have flown to Narromine, Nyngan, Broken Hill, Leigh Creek, Port Augusta......It is a great way to get to work.

currently working in North queensland so have left the little bird at home

    Peter
