Hi all, new to the forum. Living in Adelaide, looking around currently for places/clubs to fly in the area. RA certified atm but some day ... PPL and CPL then ... ATPL???
Have to wait and see what the minister of finance has to say.
Guess I will be seeing you all around on the forum at least in the days to come.

I think the Morgan aeroworks sierra needs a mention here. They are an awesome design, fast, and also get some great reviews on this forum and others. And Aus made too! Support the locals :)

Just wondering if Jabiru has stopped making their 5100 8 cylinder engine or if they have just stopped their marketing for it? Does anyone know?

My thoughts exactly ... few extra SHP's for the hotter days or shorter strips ... I am feeling pretty keen on one of these!Perhaps to help out with the CofG with 4 people on board ,,one of those big 8cyl Jab motors :) -
Hi,
I am just wondering how I add aircraft/scenery etc to my FSX files with 64 bit Vista Home Premium.
Anyone out there who is using 64 bit version, your help or tips would be very much appreciated.
Pete.

Thanks everyone,
Had a look through the Morgan Aeroworks site and all the posts on here about the cheetah and sierra and they sure do look a nice little plane. Definitely something I will consider. Also have Lightwing just 5 mins drive from my house too so makes that an option too but costs become an issue with their particular aircraft that would be of interest to me. More research required and more flying time required!

Hi everyone,
My name is Pete, I'm from nortern NSW. I am currently a SPL with Northern Rivers Aero Club in Lismore. Did a bit of flying in Townsville prior to moving to the beautiful North Coast area and joined up with the club there.
I am also considering a kit to build, something cheap and nimble, low wing and hopefully aluminium/fibreglass but yet to decide which way I will go.
Currently flying a Jab 170, done a few hours in a Jab 230, and for my time in Townsville I was with GA in Cessna 150 and 172.
Will see you all around the forum and maybe some day in the air too.
Rex Cadet Pilot Scheme; anyone out there had any experience with it?

Sounds like a great idea to me.
I am not sure I see the issue with being a pilot from the RHS, (for one year, 3 years, or even 5 years) thats the beginning of EVERY pilots life and if you have to pass exams to move up then you have to study. If you fail the exam that REX gives you to move up to the LHS then clearly you are not ready to move up to the LHS positions.
REX need pilots to fly planes, not complain about how they are training asian pilots to make money. Companies need to make money and so if they can get into those markets then thats fantastic.
Think about all the positive things, and jump at the opportunity. Study hard and work hard and you will get what you want sooner than you think. After all, 3 years isnt long.
I might even look into it myself ... I love those planes ...
