After a bit of checking I think if I have not been misinformed the radar unit atop the AMP Centre tower is part of the Sydney Ports harbour (and approaches) surveillance network. There are some more around the harbour area as well.

Into Circuits
The flying has been fun, again after left & right banks, pulling out of stalls I have made it to circuits, now the fun begins, have had two interesting sessions, both were a bit windy but what a great experience. I am starting to get the hang of flaring just when I need to but it's going to take a little bit of effort, congratulations to my Instructor Chris, what a patient guy and very encouraging with the comments. Looking forward to my next effort in the next few weeks, you would think the weather could be a bit more friendly, a big thanks to Tracktop (Ray) for passing on some photos from my very first flight. Cheers all and keep in the air safely.

Well it took a little while but the training has started, have had 4 hours in the air this week in XT-912s one with the new SST wing, this is starting to become very addictive. After doing many turns, ups and downs, following rivers etc I am certainly enjoying the experience, the trainers are patient and encouraging, a big thanks so far to Chris and Marty at Airborne Upper Hunter.
Thanks also for the encouragement and offers of flights from Jeff. People form the air what a great bunch i've met so far.

I have just joined this site and have been wandering around having a look, especially at the Microlights for sale, have just started to learn and so far the theory is great, get up into the air after my holidays in January.
Based in Newcastle NSW and will be flying out of Maitland Airport at Rutherford, under the watchful eye of my trainer Chris.
Really looking forward to it.
Cheers and everyone have a great Christmas break.

Dave can't take a trick, bad winds coming ripped off front wheel and some minor damage, but he's still in good spirits considering he's pretty bruised up and he has new parts are on the way, he is one tough, determined guy, everyone keep fingers and toes crossed for his next leg:victory: Eric
