  5. Casa remember the CASA Motto. Here at the CASA We Are Not Happy Till Your Not Happy..
  6. Having owned and operated 5 Helicopters both Piston and Turbine machines, I would have to say that while the initial purchase price is a major consideration, Its really the ongoing costs to keep them in the air that really eats into your budget. scheduled and unscheduled maintenance - 100 hourlys - Insurance - Flat battery and replacements run out at well in excess of $1200 plus your down time! while Fuel and Oil are your least concerns. And what compared to the even harder landing in the fixed wing? I would rather a zero speed touch down in my Helicopters than looking for a nice wide obstacle free area that would still require some speed or risk stalling.

  8. Helicopters Rule Greetings fellow Aviators, I am a recent new member to your hallowed Recreational Flying webb site and thought I would thow my 2 cents into the debate. As a commercial Helicopter Pilot and Instructor of some 16 years experience I would like to say Helicopters Rule. I remember an old bold pilot once telling me that we can teach a Monkey to fly a plane, but they do have issues with making the radio calls when required.. Unlike Helicopters that do require considerable imputs to maintain flight, a fixed wing wants to fly and many have taken to the skies with out the monkey being strapped in. In anycase I welcome any questions relating to Helicopters and happy to represent our Rotary breathren. Cheers:clap:
  9. Plastic Owls Hi Frank, I can advise that you can purchase a plastic owl from Australian Geographic stores for approx $25, I use one for scaring the hell out of those pesky possums and it does work, not so sure how it would work on those feathered types though? maybe worth a try and remember to continue to relocate the owl as the birds will get used to it otherwise.
  10. Hi Frank, Just advising that I have now joined the site and thanks for a great afternoon and evening while June and were in Cairns. Take care and talk soon. Regards Bob and June.
