  1. interesting view points around... i am new to flying and there is a lot i need to understand ( and i mean the basics) but why is there a debate almost about if the pilots action to deploy the chute unnecessary, considering the outcome was all POB survived. from my little experience and little knowledge about the incident is this; 1. single engine aircraft flying relatively close to ground i.e not giving himself sufficient height (for whatever reason, airspace restriction). 2.flying over densely forested area. 3. aircraft/engine maintenance/reliability issues. I'm sure a detail analysis will eventuate but this is what concerns me... I'm happy for the pilot and his passengers can live to tell the tale! regards
  2. Hello My name Is Bara I’m 28 and I have an (on-off) aviation addiction. I was sucked in through Microsoft flight sim 1998! And until April of 2009 never really thought much of it other than a simulator/game! I can’t remember how and why I began thinking about flight training! But soon I was researching the internet and the more I looked into it the deeper my obsession/fascination grew. I got hooked on the idea of actually starting to learn to fly for REAL! My first e TIF was at Camden airport with Curtis aviation! Flying in piper warrior. It was only a couple months later I booked my first flight lesson (and learned to fly in a citabria) and since obtained just shy of 50 hours (mostly dual)! I was living the dream! Unfortunately other commitments (got married and changed jobs) and depleting funds forced me to retire from flying until such time I can afford it and admittedly in hindsight I hit a brick wall! Felt like I was wasting my time money and energy. Blamed it on myself, situation, instructor and flight school! To say I was devastated is an understatement! It was painful! Now I have been looking into this again but with more hindsight and some experience and really want to get right back into it. I have my theory I plan on doing first and slowing getting back into the air again… and who knows hopefully this time round it will stick! Thanks for reading!
