l use some mild detergent scrub it as much as l can then pressure wash the entire aircraft once dry spray and rub in with rag .Do you wash the 2 stroke oil off the tail feathers prior to applying it? -
l use about 500mls to do all top surfaces.Seems like Aerospace 303 is the way to go. How much do you Drifter guys need to cover your top surfaces? -
l have used aerospace 303 protectent on my drifter skins for the last couple of years and they are as good as new l spray it on every three months and rub it in with a rag .

Hi Phil
Here is an update on my progress l am mounting the engine now as l have finished the over haul when it sits on the mount it looks like it has heaps of off set but if l measure from the firewall to each side of the gear box flange it is 5mm shorter to the left.
not sure how they calculate best position.,
l have some pics see if you can pick it don't laugh at my wheels front has duels that's all l could fined to set the engine on till l get my new set.
cheers Geoff.
-
how did you come to the conclusion that both cdi have fail.
Have you replace them and the engine runs fine now.
cheers Geoff.

It is more resistant to certain fuels

Depends on how long you want that tyre to last for it could go ban any time .Would be a good reason to go back to Warp, I think still the best value for money.....Shame about the regulation crap.I still stand by my earlier comment, a prop is like a car tire, as long as it's the right size and pitch, it shouldn't matter who made it, they are ALL made to do the job....
-
Hi Pete you need to use vinylester resin for fuel tanks .I(n have been thinking of making a fiberglass tank for my Nieuport 11 so as to make the most of the fuselage shape behind the firewall. What I need to know is what is the type of resin to use. Epoxy or Polyester?cheers Geoff.

Yes pylon l checked them out as l need one also, my mate got one of these bollys last week and he had to get the dearer one as not as strong as he hoped that was according to the person at Bolly we spoke to , big jump in price they say you only get what you pay for.Bugger, need to get one soon and thought that a good price. So, low quality props eh? -
Thats a cheap one they sell to soft wouldn't last long the good bolly is around $1680.Bolly was advertising around $900 in the magazine... -
Hi Phil
It will be good for parts gear box, carbys, exhaust, ignition. it might be still alright inside will need new seals .
offer him $300. if it doesn't sell.even at his price will still be alright.
cheers Geoff.

Hi Phil
The latest pics, the bungee set up l have removed some of the nylon slide for the nose leg steering and made a plate to act as a bearing on the top to take some of the load from the bungee it is a lot smoother now .
l only have 40 mm travel in the nose leg so the nose wheel should take up some of the shock its a 8.00x6.00 tyre.
cheers Geoff.
