Bit of cloud rolling in over SE NSW now... bugger.
-
Hopefully they dont think theyll be getting millions of dollars each year from it... If theyre realistic about it, they might be able to manage a healthy airport, run properly and not for cash.
-
I don't think I would have the patience to put all those tiny rivets in... So well detailed, that's just amazing!!

Most of the stuff on YouTube is not factory but owners for both the Sting and the Pipistrel aircraft.... there was one I saw with the sting doing loops starting at 25 feet AGL, it is on you Tube somewhere and the guy was not even wearing his seatbelt !

Just remember: Dont do Aerobatics in any aircraft unless you are fully trained and endorsed to do so, in an approved aircraft, following all legal requirements. And most of all, stay safe! If you aren't able to meet the criteria to legally perform such flight in an approved aircraft, either get the training or buy a Flight Sim, $100 and you cant die or kill anyone else in the process! (Unless of course you live in a high rise apartment unit and decide to throw the computer out a window in frustration from the installation process whilst disregarding the fact that there would be a fair few people on the street below.*)
------
* Throwing computers out windows of high rise buildings is not recommended or suggested. Please refrain from doing so. :)

Probably the parking space may be on the right side of the taxiway line, therefore theyd have turned right into the parking space, as indicated by the right rudder... Thats my thoughts on why, but I havent ever noticed that to be honest..

Got it written down on the calendar, should hopefully be good if I remember to charge the batteries on my camera...

A bit close to the prop for my liking...
-
I guess she just wasn't gonna make the cut with her walk down the runway...
Seriously though: Hopefully she comes out of this ok, horrible accident. I too cringe when I see people walking around a prop, regardless of if it's stopped or not... Sometimes for photo's with the plane and especially of videos of the plane with the engine running... I only was told the saying 'Treat the prop like it could be live' once by my instructor on my first lesson when he was showing me the walk around and I haven't forgotten it yet.

And a partridge in a pear tree? One good feed at a resturant, one hour of dual instruction, two tanks of gas for the toyota, two months of Foxtel, one mobile phone bill, a pair of new pants or four slabs of xxxx.- 3

Yep, I knew most of those already, handy things... the thing to remember is they don't work on the apple series of computers... not too sure about linux and other operating systems...

I once saw the ISS fly directly overhead when the Discovery was docked to it... just a fast moving bright light... tried to see it with the telescope, but it was too quick... So I can say Ive seen the ISS and Discovery while they have been in service :D

I havent flown on any Turboprop aircraft yet... Seems like I am missing out on a fair bit

Despite being a graveyard for aircraft, could it bring life to Aussie aviation? Quite possibly I think.

Yes, I usually have to reload the page about 5 times before it finally lets me in, but it does work eventually... Persistence CFI! lol

Welcome John, I think I recognise your name too...
-
Of course we need more variety of planes to pick from!! Good work both of you!

Solar, hydro, wind, nuclear and geothermal all need large amounts of equipment produced through methods that generally aren't "green" or "clean" too; that equipment usually needs servicing and a fair amount of maintanance over time too, so it isn't as sustainable as it may seem.... Just can't win to 'save' the planet! ;)The only reason E10 isn't already mandated, is that production can't yet support the volume needed to support such a policy. Oh and don't forget that while it needs vast areas of crops to feed it, we now seem to think that irrigation is a bogey man too. Water is for rivers, not for food production!Don't start me...There's lots of fallacies in "green marketing":-
- Electricity used to be green and clean until they remembered it is primarily produced from brown coal (in Oz).
- Electric cars that were to be all the rage have dwindled to special purpose use for the same reason.
- Fuel cell technology is interesting, but in the end needs an electrical energy source for most. An exception is one that runs on natural gas.
- Natural gas used to be green and clean, but it still results in carbon dioxide and water.
Since carbon dioxide has become the bogey man, there's really only solar, hydro, wind and for base load, nuclear and geothermal. There's lots of other experiments, but they only produce small amounts. I did see an interesting wave power device recently (looks like a string of sausages), but you would have to have hundreds of them tethered in "wave farms" to produce significant quantities of power.
At the end of the day, life is a balancing act. Get it out of balance and it does not work. There just isn't one simple answer.

Was a little rainy in the morning today with a nice thick fog, but then cleared up around lunch time for a nice 30 degree blue sky hot day here on the south coast...
