Yes but the strip width is wider than the sealed section so how wide is it ?

 

 

They could camouflage them but that would make them dangerous for us.

 

 

I notice there are no gable markers dilineating the perimeter of sealed strip, whereas the grass strip does. Just where does the width of the sealed airstrip finish? However I note there are 'white crosses' not sure how clear they are from the pilots view.

A 100 hp rotax may put out as much thrust or more than the 120hp jab probably mainly due to a larger more efficient prop turning slower. Just quessing at the reason for the good performance in the jab airframe.

If it is from narambeen, I would consider it to need a strip and repaint, from the photos I saw, quite a bit of work in that one. Have fun!

 

 

Time to start a new thread on this. Let me start by saying paint is lighter than you think, I recently stripped a skyfox of all fabric, wings, fuselage, tail etc, rolled all fabric together and weighed, I was very surprised to find it weighed only 6.5 kg paint, fabric and all coatings associated with fabric.

 

As for putting vinyl wrap over an unpainted aluminium surface you would be asking for trouble, what reaction with adhesive will take place?

 

 

I very much doubt vinyl is lighter than paint!

Want to increase throttle? Prop finer first

 

Decreasing throttle? Throttle back then prop coarser

 

 

I think it important to adjust in correct sequence ie after T/off to reduce power decrease mp with throttle then adjust prop for revs. When increasing power such as going into a climb increase revs with prop adjustment then add mp with throttle. That way you have less risk of overloading the engine. My 2 cents

That would depend if you are replacing the engine with the same engine, but just one rebuilt by yourself. IE not changing anything

 

 

Be careful of bubble canopies in the sun, if tilted up while left on the ground a friend nearly burnt his plane because of the magnifying effect.

 

 

I would love to see a small inexpensive device that takes a GPS signal then via low powered transmitter( say 10 mile) adds aircraft id, fitted with a screen or wifi to tablet. PIC can see all traffic in immediate area, simple and affordable has to be the order of the day. What point is having ADSB out if you can't see other traffic? Without ADSB in there really is no point, also if low take up rate it is as good as useless.

I believe there maybe a difference between very early 912 and later, 4" as opposed to 100mm. Not sure when they changed. Perhaps a call to floods will confirm or otherwise about a difference.
