All is right with the world then. I got out of models when the RC took off. It was nearly as expensive as the real thing. Nev.
You should have known me back then Nev.
I used to very cheaply build my own radio control gear using acorn valves out of walkie-talkies from the government surplus shops.
I could have saved you a lot of money.
The fluttering rudder (galloping ghost system} left lots of room for improvement though.

That was a very sad event and a tragedy suffered by quite a few on here. I witnessed a lot of the damage.
Thead drift Trivia for the day..........Lismore is the only town in Australia where they have a speed limit for boats in the main High Street. Years ago SES flood rescue boats travelled too fast down the High Street and bow waves smashed all the shop windows. FACT!
Back to topic.

Not quite, the outback metal windsock tells otherwise😉
You'll be telling me soon that if you put a brick in the back of a windsock, it does nothing towards a smoother flight.
I never noticed the metal one. Silly me!

Strong wind from starboard?

What a knowlegable man,
Nev possibly also adjusted the side-valves tappets beacause I know he's not real keen on those hydraulic lifter thingies

It never ceases to amaze me when I hear of these instances, that all the injured passengers were not wearing a seat belt.
WTF is wrong with people? It can happen at any time unexpectedly. Are we really supposed to feel sorry for their ignorance, Not me i'm afraid!
Hope some learn something from their experience.

So it's not true about flight attendants?

We can only hope and pray for a good outcome. Looks like it could have been a brand new rig.

Jetstar pilot? who lets everyone at a party know what he does for a quid.

We had a neighbors young chook in our garden a few weeks back.
As I approched, it took flight following the path between the trees but wound up slamming into the fence at the end.
I think it should have read Nevs post about gaining altitude by taking off into the wind.

Every chance that the float was damged by striking floating debris, which i'm always wary of when in my small boat.
Occasionally you see something in the water which is capable of damaging a hull.

First flights could possibly go somthing like this.
After initial take off and passengers settling in, an announcement over the PA system states
"Ladies and Gentleman, welcome aboard the inaugural autonomous rocket assisted flight service betwen Heathrow and New York.
Our flying time today is expected to be just over 1 1/2hrs duration.
Such are the advancements in aviation, that everthing is fully automatc, therefore not necessitating the need of a pilot on this aircraft
As you settle back and enjoy your flight, you can rest assured that all systems have been rigorously tested, retested and tested again to ensure that there's not the slightest chance that anything can Go Wrong! Go Wrong! Go Wrong!

Looking great Marty!
Having been following your build, I and others are probably almost as excited as you to see this.
