  1. I live in Vic and yes the toll fron 1034 to the current level is great The point that I was trying to make was the the 2% of idiots don't care about the rules or other people No amount of training / education will make that 2% change their ways Cheers
  2. You can teach and preach safety all you like but there are 2% of idiots out there the will not put their brain into gear and don't give a rats backside about things so there will deaths and accidents forever. The other 98% just keep having to pay the price in new rules and new costs because the idiots at CASA, Air Services and others think there can be 0 accidents. We all know drink driving is wrong and against the law but every day someone is killed or a drunk kills someone and they the 2% of fwits still drink and drive so know matter how much safety is out there, people will continue not to follow the rules and kill themselves that is a fact My 2 cents worth
  3. One of the best safety things since sliced bread OzRunways V5 now has the TAF weather in plain English as well as the (unreadable) international format This will add to safety for the all pilots easy to understand weather reports One day the CASA, Air Services might ask pilots what is needed to make flying safer Well done OzRunways, am sure AV Plan will follow soon My 2 cents worth
  4. Paul Marty is building a 701 not a 601 there have been no mod or upgrades to wing of the 7 series There was only mods for the 601 XL Cheers Allan

  6. Marty The L angles between the ribs do not attach to the ribs they are about 4 mm short I will take a pic of the plans and email them to you Cheers Allan
  7. Hi Marty The 750 and 650 now have L angles between the ribs side to side (parallel to the spar) Cheers Allan
  8. This was in Australian Flying weekly email CASA Confirms External Camera Ruling 13 Jun 2013 CASA has confirmed that pilots will need to comply with the regulations of CASR 21.M to install "GoPro" type cameras on the external surface of an aircraft. Under CASR 21.M (the old CAR35), a CASA authorised person has to approve the installation against existing airworthiness standards before the aeroplane can be flown. "Attaching anything to the external surfaces of an aircraft, whether it is the wing or not, is considered a modification," CASA's spokesperson said. "Depending on what is being attached, it may have an effect on the aerodynamics, structure and depending on its location it can affect the airspeed/altimeter readings, etc. Therefore, the alteration to the aircraft needs to be justified against the applicable airworthiness standard. "Civil Aviation Regulations (CAR) 1988 regulation 35 was repealed approximately two years ago and replace by CASA Subpart 21.M. However, CASR Subpart 21.M has the same requirements as CAR 35 did. "CASR Subpart 21.M does not disallow the installation of a modification or alteration to an aircraft, it is a regulation that allows design approval of the modification. CAR 42U requires any modification or repair to an aircraft to be installed in accordance with approved data. Therefore attaching a temporary modification must be done to 21.M approved data by an appropriately licenced person." With the proliferation of GoPro-style cameras for videos and still shots, the issue has been bought into sharp focus, especially when those shots are published or put on websites. Comment Australian Flying has published many shots in the past from cameras mounted externally. As this practise has been going on for over 50 years we have always presumed there was no issue for the pilot. In future, we will still accept these shots, but will warn the photographer about the CASA requirement. Share on emailEmail
  9. The new CH 750 CruZer is a new aircraft in the Zenith range. The STOL CH 750 is not being taken off the market. The CruZer is not a STOL aircraft, it is a high wing, 100 kt+ aircraft, with the biggest cabin in the recreational kit market
  10. Hi All The new CH 750 CurZer has been released Check out this link for more info http://www.zenairaustralia.com.au/ch-750-cruzer.html Cheers:score 010:
  11. This is why I love flying great pic
  12. I was not talking about the hard workers and volunteers at the event in my comments From your first line you were not at NATFLY 12 because if you were you would have know I was there with 2 aircraft on display and sponsored one of the tropthies given out at the annual dinner. I have a been at the last 12 Natflys as a site holder and sponsor. I believe I have the right to comment on the event which has for the last 3 yrs gone down hill. When members don't come to their event SOMETHING is wrong and this year it was not the weather and from work and sales of kits the RA Aus blaming the ecomonic time is a cope out. The standard answer from people saying it is not my responsibility and passing the blame on to any one but themselves. The head office need to take hold of Natfly and have a staff member do it full time if they need money to pay for the position they should get rid of the dead wood at the TOP of the tree this would give them a lot more funds for salaries. One example is at Narromine on the Sunday morning there was a meeting of all the site holders and we would chat about the event Since moving to Temora nothing. Site holders cannot get to a forum on the Saturday as we have to man our sites. Each yr at Temora I have said we cannot hear the PA at the southern end of the trade sites and what has happened nothing and this yr there was not event a speaker outside the Museum even that was taken away. The cost have gone up over 150% since moving to Temora. Even the editors of the RA Aus magazine did not come that says a lot. I could go on but I will not say any more I am writing to the board and HQ about the event but unless things get better I will have a serious think if I will be going to Temora again. Like some other major site holders have already started not to come if things are not fixed more will not be there in the future and NATFLY will become just a BBQ at Easter.
