  1. Costs aside, I suppose once you get into such airlines and enjoy it of course, your professional career is set (with exceptions of course - might not be someone's passion at the end of the day). Thats what I like about these scheme's, though I would prefer to be based in Australia. Can someone with experience tell me what its like moving to a new country to work? Pretty tough I imagine
  2. I've looked at it, and I have heard that once employed you are based in Hong Kong for six years. Can someone confirm this? Etihad has a scheme too
  3. But doesn't Virgin own Skywest? Please correct me if I'm wrong Cheers
  4. I always get told by flying schools who think I'm interested, not to do any flying until starting their course. Do you think that its probably for extra hours with them (that your paying for) than actually bad habits? Cheers
  5. Yer it's about $83,000 at Swinburne I think. I'm not too sure about what it is at rmit. But if I don't get into a bachelor program at Swinburne, I don't think I will go to go on uni. I think Oxford is quite expensive, for a tif they charge $399 whilst mfs only charge $200. Does anyone know why it's double the price at the same airport?
  6. I'm in year 12 anyway, so I don't think I have to worry about family and kids just yet! Thanks for your input mate. But by the time family comes around, I think a cadet pilot will probably have enough hours to secure a job where ever they want to be based if they haven't already. What do you think about that (it's a thought)?
  7. Okay i didn't know that thanks. How big is the pool of applicants roughly and do they choose about 9 or so? Thanks
  8. Thanks for the replies guys, Ignition have you applied with REX for the 2012 course? I'm a bit confused as when to apply as I'm in year 12 now.
  9. Thanks for that mate, I'll probably go the UNI way too if i don't get accepted into any cadetships. The ADFA is appealing but not sure I want to spend 13.5 years there. Cheers for the reply
  10. Everyone always has negative feedback about cadetships (except for Qantas'), provide your reasons and lets see if they're valid. Cheers
  11. What's your opinion of their (REX) cadetship winsor68? Cheers
