Has anyone using the 582 with the oil pump fitted ?

Are they reliable ,

do they meter oil flow at idle or pump a constent flow ?

I have always mixed my fuel but am thinking of using the oil pump with my new 582 !

How do you think this engine would peform in an Australian Lightwing I have just order the DVD as I have aquired an lightwing rebuild project think of fitting one up ?

Bugger I just bought enother Lightwing with some big plans for the future bought 0032 will leave 582 for now but going to look into the Viking hl 110 for the future >>>>>

Speaking for my self I had an 582 that I did run on Avgas all the time for the better part of 11 years flying to and throw from Insfail too weipa Rocky with out a single engine fail I now own a sport Parasol but only run unleaded because I dont have the ablity to avgas but I found that the 582 ran a lot better and the EGT ran cooler never did I have a fouled plug the engine would run a lot smover and more response my lightwing would easly out climb most other 912 single up would climb @ 1000-1200 fpm two up around 600 -700 no problems I am that inpressed with the 582 that I just bought enother too start rebuilding with the help of Carlo Prete, and will be making all the upgrades too mount a four stroke engine but for now will stick with the 582 .

I am looking at the Viking engine with a bit more reseach on the new engines will see what the future holds because they are better for long haul " less mixing of fuels " :1st:

So often we pass like ships in the sea... only with planes. I certainly enjoyed the morning... my only regret... not flying in.

Doug Evans here getting back into flying again , after a 5 year break bought a Loehle Sport Parasol too get my hand in again looking at getting a terrier 200 camper or simular had a lightwing for 11 years with a 582 loved it

Just bought a rebuild project Lightwing with a 582 Blue head but will be repowering with a Rotax 912 s or maybe a Viking HF110 after a bit more reseach this power plant is looking pretty good too me
