  1. I will be going, taking the family with me for the first time. Having to drive as the wife and one of the kids do not like to fly. I am also looking forward to seeing some of the recreational aircraft up close as I am fairly new to RA
  2. Jim, Although I am fairly new to the RAA scene, I appreciate you fighting to improve RAA for all of us. Dont let the few bad eggs get the better of you. You have my 100% support. Joe.
  3. Hi all, Thanks for the welcome. Cheers, Joe
  4. Hi Planedriver, The 162 is pretty easy to fly. The control yolk/stick is a little different with the sideways movement, but I got used to it pretty quickly. It was a bit more touchy on landing than the Gazelle, but overall not too bad. I do not like the PFD. Having always flown with analogue gauges, the PFD takes some getting used to. Cheers, Joe
  5. Hi all, I got back into flying this year after a 9 year break from it. One of the guys at my new job has a pilot certificate, and after talking with him, i decided to fly again. Money is a bit tight, so can't fly as much as I would like. I got my pilot certificate in June, but only joined the forum recently. Its a great forum, with lots of interesting reading. I fly out of Tyabb in Victoria, and have been flying in their Gazelle's and their Cessna 162.
  6. Hi Jaycee, How have you gone with the guys at Tyabb? Have you been flying yet? Cheers, Joe
  7. John, i think it all depends on what your level of experience was before you gave it away. I picked things up reasonably quickly. I had a reasonable level of experience before I stopped flying. When i restarted this year, i got my pilot certificate after doing 7 hours, including the test and the 1 hour solo required to convert from GA to RA. It does feel great. to be flying again! Cheers, Joe
  8. Hi John, I fly out of Tyabb. Got back into flying this year after a 10 year break. 2 good instructour are Barry Tate and Dave Bell( the RAA CFI). I hope it all goes well for you. Cheers, Joe
  9. Hi Neil, I am flying from Tyabb in Victoria. Cheers, Joe
  10. Hi Nev, Yes, they are very forgiving. Cheers, Joe
  11. Hi all, Just getting back into aviation after a 8 year hiatus. Thought I'd give RA a go. Have done 3 1/2 hrs so far in a Gazelle and enjoying it. Cheers, Joe
