  1. Thanks but have already tried. The problem is not Skyview but Flight Design that decided to put a password on the Skyview system to make it "safer".The local Flight Design agent also seems unable to help. I have also gone direct to Flight Design in Europe but they refer me to the local agent.

A sort of runaround. I will try again.

I guess you would know that Flight Design has gone broke. Reported that they are now made in Taiwan.

  3. True, although that was a bit of a "rush of blood to the head" thing. Me and the boys at YCAB have the world's only two Rotaxified J160's. There are unlikely to ever be any more. It goes fine, but for the $, time and stress involved I should have just flogged it off and bought a Tecnam or whatever.I gussied up the paint job while I was at it. Not that this has anything to do with the thread ...

There are more than two Ian

  4. Good point, Maj, but how long were those Merlins meant to last? I have read that they needed a lot of TLC, just like Jabs. Wartime production was done under a different value system; very complex products designed for a very short service life, being built with cheap labour (especially the women). The Taree community, like many others throughout the empire, raised the funds to buy one Spitfire (about £50,000- a bloody fortune then) little knowing that dozens of them would be shot down in a single day.

I believe the merlins had a tbo of 400hrs if they made it that far.

  5. I spoke at length with Ed on the phone and have also spoken with three Board Members and written to another. Now, imagine if 1,000 of our 10,000 members did that and they became well informed and communicated their wishes to the Board? A good thing? A good start? Not really because despite the Board Members getting drowned in those enquiries 90% of RA-Aus members would still be in the pitch dark and would not have communicated their preferences to the Board.

That is no way to communicate with Members. Steve Runciman always used to say "ring me" but very few people did - why? Because that is a ridiculous way to attempt to have a meaningful communication with 10,000 peopel.

Well.........What did Ed tell you Mr AR

  6. If it's not too late, please all use the next elections to carefully consider who you vote for. Consider if who your voting for are already on the board. Did they rubber stamp poor decisions in the past or did they stand out and be counted. If they are new candidates, do they have a vision for the betterment of the RAA.

We need a board who listens to the members, acts in our best interests and spends its time making sound decisions to enhance our future, not theirs.

We need aboard members who possess skills to take us forward.

How wonderful if we had RAA member to stand forward who had the vision, drive and experience to take us to the future. I'm sorry Middo, Eugene, Dave, Ed and others are our past, not our future.

    Your vote counts.

Why dont you stand pbugg new member!

  7. Ok lets get rid of this man too. regardless that many think he his taking action, dont forget that you guys voted in the reps you have now. Who hear is prepared to take his job and perform to your exacting requirements AND get the job done that you have demanded. Lots of criticism here but no one seems to have a solution. It would appear that whoever has this role gets to have many critics regardless of how good or bad they are. You ask why at times there is not enough communication. Every time there is there is a barrage of uninformed criticism. Lets try and measure on the end result unless you want to step into the ring

  8. Over the last three days this thread has pricked, prodded, pushed, pulled, twisted and milked little bits of information and pasted together a scenario which is getting somewhere near the truth as I see it. For all of those who complain and wail about the process used there is an easier answer, force your board to communicate. Then you can be released from your pain. Modern management systems know this and behave appropriately. In no possible way I can think of is Ed Herring's approach acceptable.

Hear Hear This ones a hanging offence plain and simpleIf this matter is not resolved then First payment of Salary is receipt of fraudulent monies

Go ahead show us how really inept you are! I hear the Victorian Fraud Squad is on a roll with investigating incorporated associations with corrupt (RED) heads
