No it didn't , I did a double drain check , but no sign of that creamy crud that was in an around the filter ,I've drained and flushed the whole system , two wing tanks and sump tank three times until clear ,
I've also pulled the throttle body apart to check that those fine holes were ok , they were fine .
I pulled the sump tank out and have re sealed it , so it's back together tomorrow and have another go ,
G'day Mike,
out of interest; is the filter a paper element type??

obviously ..NOT ..Bob Hoover ! -
Did anybody else not get their Magazine for July? I have rung the magazine contact number twice now, all they do is take my details say someone will call me back and then nothing happens.
your not alone! [ not that it's worth much anyway!]
-
When we were kids a mate of mine named Mark used to keep going homeCause he thought his Mum was calling him.
But it turned out ,
....... it was his dog with a hair-lip! (Mark! Mark!)

Going back to the story itself (I won't go into jabiru engines), did anyone else notice the J-430 on the cowling in that picture? Also are you allowed to use a bolly prop on a Jabiru? I though it was only the wooden one and one new composite that Jabiru is working on.
I'm not going to get into the wrestling match here...or anywhere for that matter, but to shed some light on your question; I was at Bolly this day and saw the Jabiru decalled props which they have been supplying for "some-time now"(sic). They are pretty impressive with a hub root about twice the diameter of standard Bolly/Warp/etc.
I think if you had a prop strike it'd rip the engine off the firewall! (don't know if that's a good thing...don't ask me how I know) They make a very fine piece of kit and are excellent people to deal with. (...plug over)
. And if the rego was'nt in a bl**dy pile somewhere in Fyshwick I'd be tempted!

Perhaps it is worth asking the manufacturer this question?
That's how 'they' do it ............on the plans anyway!
-
but I bet plenty of people here would question their wife if several hundred thousand dollars disappeared out of the bank every year and she just said it was "expenses".
So .......you met my EX-wife eh !

If you simply delete the #share part it should still take you to the same page
Using CHROME...........I have signed; by removing the '# share'...............I bring it up for people that may not know the "trick'.

can't access with the "#share" at the tail of the link!

Ian, the deed does not mention a requirement for and SMS officer. It does refer to a safety managent system be in place.Jim.
........Oh! Thanks Jim .
OK so why does the 'sms' as required need a consensus of the 'board' to implement the fore-mentioned sms?
-
quote{
"RAAus has been aware of the need for inventing a SMS, for over two years (maybe many more than two) but due to lack of consensus by the board nothing has been done. And it looked like nothing was continuing to be done in spite of all the board's deliberations. " (end quote) }
I'm a simpleton!....I know , so that's OK (with me) ; How-ever if the RAA deed of agreement with CASA , 'REQUIRES' an SMS Officer,
why the Bl**dy hell does it need a consensus from a disfunctional board of representatives. As I said .....I'm a simpleton!
Seems to me it's as 'they' say .....it's a no-brainer !!
So tell me why?...............(please.......keep it simple)

It is apparent that those committee members who have & will resign have been relying on their respective positions for prestige purposes over past years rather that responsibility & accountability for all members, however the chickens have now come home to roost & it is now too hot in the kitchen for some committee members to remain in their comfortable respective positions.

Warm summer evening flying in a Drifter cannot be beaten.
AFAIK.......Jabbie engines can be a bit problematic with cooling in a pusher config. As I say AFAIK ! Could be wrong..........wouldn't be the first time.............or the last.

Anyone know who our candidates are?

Putting the feelers out there to see if there would be any interest from members to attend a Welding course that would be held in Canberra.G'day BBoy,
Although I'm in SA ;I'm in if it goes ahead! A bit of tuition is what I need to fix my technique so far!! Yuk!(

You are quite right ...of course! I think MY sense at humour is a little different than yours. However I'm suitably chastised.Cherk, we are trying to promote proper maintenance skills here on this site and not a who cares attitude...the only tool is the person who uses the wrong tool that can cause some unseen issue resulting in part failure and kills themselves...there have been far too many deaths in our industry this year -
A Tool ,is a Tool, is a Tool, is a Tool................and even some people are shown to be TOOLS...........too!!!Anyone see any interesting things about this clip...like the use of multi-grips instead of spanner etc -
