  1. It's a slow high lift high drag plane suiting a big prop. Reduction is the normal way to get this big prop, but I couldn't think of anything much worse than a high revving (relatively) motor up the front of something doing about 60 knots at best. I am (sort of ) considering a Bleriot XI. Perhaps that would fill the bill for you. ( Or another parasol design. Perhaps the biggest Kohler Vee Twin would power a light one easily. Look it up on line. There's plenty of interest in that sort of thing, and you won't spend a lot of $$'s Nev

How can you build a Bleriot XI? Do they have kits? Any links?

    Sorry - thread drift. :)

  2. I'm cross-posting this request from a car forum.

If I wanted a wing of a specified profile and specified chord and width, what would be the best way of buying one? I am thinking something like one of the NACA profiles for which there is real engineering data available.

Say 900 x 150mm. I would like alloy end plates or similar, allowing motorised adjustable angle of attack.

I have absolutely no skills in fibreglass / carbon fibre / etc and so I'd prefer something able to be bought or made to the specs.

    Suppliers?

Does anyone know where this person might start looking?

    Thanks,

  3. Hi. I've been a member of the forum for some years but not active. I'm starting to look at building costs and hoped someone knowledgable can answer the question of just how much a Zenith CH750 would cost to build. Assume a kit without engine, and basic electronics. Thanks in advance.

no worries mate. Like I said, I know a couple of coppers and they are the most fun and tell the best (*worst*) jokes. Perhaps they need to do this to offset the job stress. I'm glad cops, and you have a sense of humour. It would be a sad world without it. I guess this thread has definitely raised all our awareness about the hazards you boys ( and girls ) in blue face. Cheers mate.

  5. I don't know what to make of this thread. I read the original joke and didn't see anything offensive in it. I know a couple of coppers, and they tell the best (un PC) jokes. I guess the lesson we can take from this thread is not to make any jokes slagging off at police.

To be fair, shouldn't racist jokes also be banned? Also a lot of jokes here make fun of women. No more of that then. No more homophobic jokes or religious jokes or humour at the expense of *terrorists* ( they're freedom fighters really).

No jokes at the expense of the weight challenged or the aged. In fact I think we should avoid the whole issue and ditch the humour thread. There's always going to be someone who's offended. Welcome to the 21st century, check your humour at the door.

I replied ..."This alien spaceship; it didn't look a bit like a panel van did it? What did your mum tell you about getting into strangers cars after drinking?"

She didn't speak to me for a week. ;)
