Never have I seen a more appropriate T-shirt ...
It takes him 30 min to list all the things he did wrong,
Then he concludes that there is nothing to be learned from it, nothing to do differently...

I would be very interested to hear from someone who has done both the "RAAus to RPL" and then the "RPL to Ppl" and whether they found the intermediate step worthwhile?
Has anyone done this yet?

We used to call the 80's the Greed decade.
Our local council went looking for a developer to build houses inside our airport.

That sounds like Crayonbox, he's hangered at YMYB now, but still active around Hervery Bay, Fraser etc.Welcome to the forums Frans. Sounds like you're doing just fine. I had some contact with a Kiwi guy who flew a trike out of Harvey Bay some while back, but haven't heard anything from him for quite a long time. I wonder whether the strip he used has closed because of more commercial flights or maybe he's gone back home. I remember seeing him fly around Frazer Island while I was up there on holiday, and yearned to be up there with him.- 1

I would have thought in a lighty, if you knew the gear was staying up, you want to divert somewhere quiet?
Maybe even grassy?

Pilot infront of wing engine behind via prop shaft,
Ala P39 Airacobra
The trouble with mid-wing is you have the wing spar going fair through the cockpit - the Vampire gets away with this as the pilot would be just forward of the main spar to balance the weight of the rear-facing engine, but I'm not sure how it'd work for a tractor design. (I'm sure there's a way, there are plenty out there!) -
Yes,Oxymoron, definition; compolsery voteing.Compolsery voteing is just an eago booster for pollys.Definatly not democratic.
But better than the alternative, where only the minority special interest groups bother to vote, and consequently they get whatever they want...

This is incorrect.OzRunways says "Unlike iPads, all Android tablets, including those with only WiFi, have built in GPS.".Many cheaper Android tablets do not have GPS.
I'm not aware of any Android tablet that has GPS and requires a network connection.
However, some will take minutes(up to 20) not seconds to connect when out of sync.

Would a design cruise speed and horsepower be giving too much away?

Hey!
I resemble that remark!

The trike that you're worried about that's 20 Nm away, is about 20 minutes away.

I was once advised that a wing swap between 95.32 trikes would be a major mod that would not be difficult to register, IF it was done with BOTH manufacturers approval.
The problem with this is that Airborne have been reported to have stated that they will not approve any wing swaps outside of their factory options.

Hi Soleair,Just on the engine, forgot to say: as well as being 10kg lighter & electric start, the MZ also makes 30% more power than the Rotax 503. (And this is reportedly borne out in real world experience rather than ideal dyno numbers). (Sorry, I just really like my new engine.)Thanks for the first hand report, there are a few engines out there but not much in the way of direct comparisons.
Did you consider the Hirth range?
If so what do you see as the advantages of the MZ?
Thanks

Wouldn't it be logical, given recent events,
For a commercial pilot who is displaying anger issues, to be grounded until it can be confirmed that he is in a fit condition to fly?
But if his employer has sacked him, without providing any support, that would be disgraceful.
Darren.

But what good would even a "Black Box" be?
If there is an investigation, no results are released anyway.

95.10 has no speed limit though!FAR 103 offers all of 95:10 plus more. Plans, kit or ready to fly. Not only just fixed wing like 95:10 but also lighter than air, rotary wing, PPG, PG, trike, rocket ship or martin back pack. as long as it's under the weight and speed limit it's on. No fees, no BS just go run a muck.Daza

I'm not an Ambulance chaser here or in the old country,
But to me,
What you did was a clear cut case of "Self defence"
And that is a legal defence for any action.
Regardless of the fact that it was also the right thing to do.
Good call.
