  1. About the half way (listowel) from Longreach to Charleville is some truly spectacular topography.

Be prepared. If you land unexpectedly on this leg you will be liable to perish from thirst at this time of year. This leg has very few people and some serious walking (at night ) to find help...and forget about your phone working on this leg if y are on the ground. Not all the stations on the wac are occupied these days.

Maybe think about going on to Winton from Longreach....very spectacular jump up country.

If you are going soon...take enough water .

  2. yes i was not specific enough. i was talking about extensive grazing operations re the chinese buying kidmans and other big properties. they dont last more than a decade usually and they dont make much return on their capital if any but they do bring in investment capital to australia. and do essential development work. bloody marvellous if our homegrown family farming businesses can keep land australian owned but just not possible all of the time.

  3. The principle is.....the source documents should be in plain English. Abbreviate to your hearts content after that.

My all time favourite is CIvil Aviation Orders 48 Flight Time Limitations. Here is an example..."after an FCMs assigned FDP commences, the AOC holder may assign to the FCM a modified FDP ..."

  4. Just started to update AIP..aeronautical information publication. I would like to write to mr skidmire and ask for plain English writing to return to the AIP.

Example gen 3.2 -9 page replaced. Why was it replaced. Because the powers that be have turned the words Aerodrome Reference Point into ARP for pities sake! Doesn't take up anymore space to write it out in full. Another completely useless acronym ... And a completely useless replacement page reprint.

Anyone have his direct email ..thought I saw it on here on a previous post when he first started work.

  5. Ya missed it... As thAt man above Said...the start up costs were high and they never recovered those costs. Casa over regulation strikes again.

I d love to do scenic work with my machine...the customers are there. They are prepared to pay..to a point. The startup costs from casa are horrendous.
