I think you'll find members ultimately decide how many directors are appointed through involvement or apathy at elections.
<=7, all nominees are automatically elected

Could the fields be listed as closest rather than Alphabetical or at least the option to sort as closest?
Private airfield names may get a bit difficult to search for if name is hard to spell correctly or multiple airfields with same name.

Nah, primary goal of an administrator is to pay themselves, creditors get the crumbs.
Get whatever is owed to you out of there fast. If you wait,you lose.
Vast majority of administrators liquidate the business rather than revive them.

FV, maybe we need to nominate you to SAAA NC to pursue this, I am a member of both also and agree that an amaglamated entity would be beneficial for administration.
I believe SAAA's shortfall is a member benefit. There is no compulsion to continue membership once you have your Experimental CoA, so join up, build then leave and fly your plane legally. ie: no real benefit in continuing membership. Relies totally on goodwill & churn for the organization to continue.
With RAA, stop membership = grounded. But there are some benefits (the cost of membership is more than covered by the PL insurance cover alone).

Yeah. I don't use it with compressor sitting on drum, I have about 20' air line to keep it away,just put it there for the photo. but also never seen PRV open, as I always keep air pressure at 4-5 psi so PRV is only as safety valve, gets messy if the drum is presurized too much. If you must use a compressor with no regulator make sure to only put a very small amount of air in drum at a time, pressures build up fast when drum is full and you only need a little air to move lots of fuel.Concept is great but Id keep that induction motored compressor a long way away, especially if pressurised vapour blowing off PRV -
Ok, never posted pics before, so see how it goes.
Air side parts cost about $20, just a few pvc fittings not even glued as only low pressure, I used 25mm but 19mm probly ok. top bit is homemade pressure relief from bits in the workshop, (easily made from pvc, a ball from old mouse and light spring, for max 6-7 psi release). inlet air fitting has tube extension going through the pvc cross, when end cap is removed (this end is better a bit longer) and higher air pressure used vacuum in drum is created. air is either from the old 12v foam marker compressor (high volume low pressure pump) or workshop compressor with air regulator.
Fuel side is just a bung with steel pipe to bottom of drum, 19mm camlocks on filter & tap end & cap to keep clean, allows hose/filter to be removed. camlock cap can go on tap or drum spear.
works great. drums can be refilled by anyone with DG licence so fuel truck drivers can do it. if they wont they're just being lazy.

Illegal to fill 200 l drums, $5000 fine for you, $25000 for petrol station, better to go to bulk depot, they will exchange empty drum for full one, or bring it to you.
To transfer to plane, low pressure air is your friend and really cheap, just look at how a garden weed sprayer works, can be scaled up to work with any container with a few fittings through a bung same thread as your container and an air source at max 4-5 psi. Must be regulated air if powered compressor is used.
My setup will transfer fuel fast and no fuss or remove fuel using venturi to create vacuum in drum if over mtow.
For small containers like 20l jerries, a few pumps from an airmattress type pump would make ideal air supply, just make sure a tap is on end of hose to control fuel flow into Mr funnel, probably could be made light enough to take touring also.

Landing fees are just the begining, sounds like your council has been sucked in like many before them. You may even end up with cameras at each taxiway managed by some company in Sydney, Strangly their fees are greater than the revinue. may even end up vith security controlled paid parking for you car.
Next will be a feasability study into turning it into an international airport, Council will be reluctant to admit they have been scammed by the "consultants", so nothing actually changes but the fees stay.
Airports are a gateway to a town, just like the roads in or Jetty, try putting toll gates on those and see how many visitors to town you get.

yes all those stops are pretty close to one another but I was thinking of doing some extra local flying if weather/time allows as all those places are quite picturesque :)

YDRA is a little long walk for fuel.
YKBR is big long walk. Better stop is Lynton Station at Port Gregory, to the south of kalbarri. Good place to camp also.
But surely you dont need fuel at all these places, there pretty close. More trouble for you as you go north if you do.

What do you want to know? I've built a SP4000 (same planform just heavier). that just needs its CoA to go. So I know its inner workings intimately,but yet to fly it.
Aircraft is truly composite, with wood,steel,aluminium,GRP & fabric all in there.
Best to just go and fly one at Ballina, I was impressed enough to buy an early kit. aircraft seem pretty tough.

Just thinking, Maybe electric wheel could replace the planes battery to save some weight, would be charged by the time you land, just have to remember not to return to plane with no charge left. unless your ok with swinging on the prop.

Don't understand the subject title of this thread, does it mean having a BRS makes it ok for cirrus drivers to mismanage fuel endurance.
looks to me he's a long way from any destination! We don't know the details but a good fuel/time log should alert any fuel problem long before he got to a point of no return. He called coast guard at 1000 mi to run, that last 750 mi to BRS release would have been sobering.

sure could have done with an offer like that on this side of the paddock 8 years ago, its how long its taken me to put this "4-500" hr kit together.
must say building has been sometimes frustrating but mostly very enjoyable and will most likely be a repeat offender.
Hope you find someone that needs a hand a bit closer.

Like I say, try a heat gun on a test piece first. heat control is easy, took a lot more heat to melt the fabric there, than I needed to get fabric taught on plane. Don't know about melting glue into the fabric, I used MEK for that. guess there is lots of ways to skin a cat.

Bugger using an iron, Way too fiddly. electric heat gun is quick and easy, as recommended to me by Howie at Lightwing and my local LAME. just remember to take the nozzle off the end if its removable. and depending on your aircraft structure watch out for over tightening the fabric as it can deform light frames, but this is easy to control with the heat gun.Anyone got any recommendations on best iron (available in Australia) or what worked for you??Just glue a test bit of fabric to something like an old tennis racquet etc. then shrink it until you go too far, its amazing how much heat it takes. good for testing finishing sealers, paint etc also.
MEK is brilliant stuff, wish I knew about it years ago, 20l was about $100 in WA from Blackwoods.
