  1. lol, I edited the post just as you posted ;) if you need any other help just ask.
  2. If no one can, I would but cannot due to no vehicle and money, and you want abit of fresh air, you can go over to the International Terminal and go up to the Observation Deck. There are two ways (well three if you incude walking, four if you want to include taxi.) which are Airport Link Train or T-Bus. Train: Return Adult: $10.20 Trains leave every 5-15minutes depending on time of day, tickets can be purchased from vendign Machines on the concourse of each platform, but be aware they will only give $19.90 max in change. Bus: The T-Bus I have only seen and never caught, but here is a rundown on the services. From http://www.sydneyairport.com.au Also, there may be a bus service running between the Terminals, 470 from Bondi Beach I think it is. Am unsure, but check that out to see if it carries on from Domestic to International. That would be the cheapest option, but remember Sydney's transport is not intergrated. So you cannot use one ticket on different forms of Transport like Melbourne and Brisbane. Observation deck entry is through the Esky Bar at the Airport Link end of the terminal, on the Departures level. But I am sure Chainsaw will be able to show you around ;)
  3. Welcome to the board. Feel free to check over the fleet lists, links to airline history, forum rules, and add your name to the Group map over in the Other Links section on the Menu. Enjoy your stay! Todd Milton.
  4. There is also a Nalanji and one which they invented called Water Dreaming too. The one I really hated was that God awful Chelsea rose. the colours and trying to make it 3d look to it really put me off it. Tis a shame they are gone, but they CEO at BA got sacked over them! amazing, try abit of multiculturalism and ya get sacked for it.....
  5. I remember being handed a website many moons ago about a website which had listed British Airways world Tails. I loved them personally, brought colour and life to the airports by portraying many different scenes worldwide. My Favorite was colum, an entanglement of colour. Unforutnently with none left, we are now stuck with the Union Jack colour scheme, so please enjoy the site. http://www.lockonaviation.net/html/utopia.html
  6. lol, thankyou for that Steve. I now know how to spell Diarrohea! Well at least if I have Andrew Daddo will not be suffering from it. Now all we have is Master Hogg to fly the Rainbow TAA.net flag for us. Go well my son.
  7. Thanks Chainy. Am sittin down watching foxtel and going to the little boys room many a time. Might go into town later on (Dinner time), get some good food into me, none of that fast food crap.
  8. I have unfortunently turned ill this morning, woke up with some stomach pains and got as far as the QF terminal before I had to turn back as they just got worse and worse as I went along. It was either the pizza or summin on the train last night. Sorry to all those involved that I could not attend.
  9. Here are some of the other flying aircraft from Saturdays main event. And last but not least, myself!
  10. The RAAF Had 6 hornets displaying their stuff today, first a solo display then 4 more horets came to join the solo aircraft and the static aircraft open for the public to view. Here are shots of the solo displays of the hornet, and even some with another type of aircraft (Meteor?) and the hornets in formation.
  11. I have decided to split this up into a few different sections to make sure pages do not take forever to load, but here are some photos from todays trip to the Temora Aviation Museum. Connie And Static Displays. Connie flew over on its way to Western Australia. Static Displays
  12. Chainy, Whatever you have on, Cancel it! :P
  13. Ok, it is confirmed. I will be there for sure, mum, work and Ms Bray have confirmed it all.
  14. Have just emailed, should be able to travel up on CountryLink the day before!
  15. I love the Aboriginal painted craft, they brings some colour to the skies (One thing though they didn't mention is beloved Nalanji is still on the ground at Avalon), But it would be nice for Qantas to depict an aircraft on the European history of Australia. Like a captain cook one, that would be nice. But I don't think that will happen any time soon!
  16. Have been on: 717-200 737-300/400/700/800 767-200/300 A320-211 A330-200 CRj-200 Saab 340 DHC8-300Q
  17. Hey Guys, Wondering, what is the aircraft every one else has travelled on the most? Mine is 25 out of 34 flights have been on a 737 of some kind, as Canberra's jet type mostly consists of 737's.
  18. Got back yesterday from a lovely holiday up in Brisbane, and I really did not want to come back to work and the freezing cold air that Canberra seems to produce. So here it is, with photos and all. Date: 12/07/2006 Flight No: DJ557 Reg: VH-VBY Type: 737-7FE Name: 'Virgin'ia Blue' Seat: 9F Seq. Number: 1 STD: 6:25 STA: 8.00 Gate: 6 Dep Rwy: 35 Arr Rwy: 19 Checked in about 10am the day before, scoring a close seat and avoiding the line at check in. Walked straight to the Bag Drop Counter, dropped off what I needed to check in while the other people looked glaringly at me as they were not forward enough to use self service or web check. While waiting to board they had the hanger doors open over at the RAAF base side, which looked fantastic just a wall of light in the darkness. Boarding was the same as always, pretty efficient and there were very few delays caused by late passengers. We left via runway 35, not on the new extension though, but left in where the runway used to end (It is back open, it was closed during construction between taxiways M&N.Onboard was little turbulence, with a beautiful sunrise coming up on my side of the aircraft. I remember doing a similar time flight back in 2000 with Ansett on a Kendell CRj-200 with the same beautiful view. Cheese and Biscuits with a hot Choccie was on the menu, so I enjoyed that while watching the sunrise. Flight crew were older than the normal Virgin crew you get, one would have at least been about 48/49 and had her for there and back.she was very very professional, not as laid back as the other crew aswell. I preferred the younguns, they were friendly but laid back and well... hot! Landing we came in over with the Gold Coast to my side, which was fun to have a look at the mass amount of Highrises glinting in the morning sun, and then out over the ocean with a left turn onto runway 19 and a very smooth touchdown. Best thing was I got off at the same gate I got off in 2000, kinda like a flashback. Just with a bigger aircraft. Wing View Took this the day I left, But it is the plane I got, Just in a different Location. Date: 18/07/2006 Flight No: DJ558 Reg: VH-VBD Type: 737-8Q8 Name: 'Sassy Sydney' Seat: 22A Seq. Number: 51 STD: 8:15 STA: 10:05 ATA: 09:55 Gate: 44 Dep Rwy: 19 Arr Rwy: 17 I checked in Via the self service Check in, and was once again one of the only people using the service and the Bag drop counter. Flight was abit late to board but we left virtually ontime. Was a beautiful morning for flying, nice and sunny with not as many clouds as there were on approach to Canberra. Not much to say, I had a choccie bar and coke during the flight, and unfortunently they had a problem with the inflight entertainment systems and it could not be turned on for us to listen too which was a shame. Not much to say, apart from there was quite abit of turbulence over Lake George which made the flight quite fun, and also one turn really made you have a weird feeling in your body, kinda the feeling where you whole guts are being moved up and they are going to come out. Weird but fun. Another Wing View. Am home now, and not enjoying it. Am looking at going up there for a few months and get a transfer through Coles to do so. Also, the Below is for the train fan's, if any on the board. Train: Electric Tilt Train (EDI/Walkers and Hitachi) Operator: Queensland Rail Service: QTT501 Train Consist #: 5301/6301/8301/8302/6302/5302 Tran Consist: MC-T-M-M-T-MC Train Name: City Of Maryborough Dept. Point: Roma Street Station Arr. Point: Cooroy Dep Time: 11.00 Arr Time: 12.57 Seat: 43 Car: D Class: Economy Max Speed Reached: 100km/h This was my second trip on the QR Tilt Train, but the first after the train has come back from getting refurbished. They have done a good job, replacing the older CRT mainscreen TV's with brand new LCD TV's. They have put new fabric on the seats, a nice dark blue and black fabric which gives an nice cool and calm image, and dark blue curtains. The Carpet is new, but is a lighter colour to break up the darker feel of the Train. Along with the interior, the exterior brought on a new colour scheme, much like its Diesel Tilt Train cousins which suits the train very well. The trip was good, but the train itself is limited to 100km/h at them moment due to speed restrictions inplace after a derailment near Bundaberg. Sop this means that the CityTrain services running to Cooroy and Nambour run at faster speeds than the current Tilt Train. At the beginning they show you a video on the safety of the Tilt Train and what to do in an Emergency. Much like the Airlines. Unfortunently, I coould not get my In Seat Audio entertainment to work. Only one channel which would have been ABC radio or something like that, so I got out the trusty iPod and listened to that for the remainder of the journey. QR offer a trolley service on the Tilt Trains, offering a range of pre prepared food fore purchase. They do not offer hot meals like pies and such from the trolley, but have a seperate Galley where that is avaliable. I got a Milk and a cheese and Biscuits for mine, which were ten times better than the Air Fare ones found on Virgin Blue. The Brisbane to Cooroy run is short, but it gives you a good feel of the train itself. And it is inside the Translink zonal network with a Interurban train following behind it so you can get back to Brisbane quickly. I give the train 10/10 for anything we have here in Australia, you cannot get better than the Tilt Train when travelling in Australia. Tilt at Roma Street. Seating Tilt Train Logo As stated the return Journey is easily made by the Interurban following behind which terminates at Cooroy and travels back to Brisbane at about 13:30. This is Normally an ICE (Intercity Express) unit, or an ICE/EMU (Electric Multiple Unit) Hybrid. The ICE was actually the predecessor of the Tilt Train, it was introduced to do the Brisbane to Rockhampton route back in the 80's as a service called Spirit Of Capricorn. Now it runs the Nambour, Gympie North and Cooroy services for CityTrain. The EMU and ICE are more or less the same in technical terms, and looks. The ICE just has 2+1 seating, Reading Lights, Toilets, Galley (Disused, was in there for now defunct Spirit Of Capricorn service), and luggage racks. The EMU has commuter seating, open plan 2+2 arrangement with no extras like toilets. ICE at Cooroy ICE Interior Hope y'all enjoyed it. Todd M.
  19. Today us Canberran's and surrounding region's were lucky enough to be able to attend an open day held at Canberra International Airport to celebrate the completion of the new 600m extension of our main 17/35 runway. Was abit wet, but this did not turn the crowd away from attending the walk/run/skip/ride/blade/skate along the taxiway and runway. There were two Metros, one each from Corporate Air and Brindabella airlines, A BD-5j microjet, a Robinson R44 helicopter, a Brindabella Airlines Cessna, and a Corporate Air Cessna 441 Conquest. Have a good one y'all! [/b]
  20. Robbo's what now? Ah he's a good bloke! Welcome aboard to all the new members, remember to download my fleetlist's too for all your spotting needs
  21. Any spotters going to Canberra at any time soon, rwy 35 is closed between taxiway's Mike and November (Where the QF defence hanger is, the taxiways in which that is situated) due to runway extension works. Only went to spot on 35 this morning and there was no where to do so without facing into the sun as there is a construction fence and fire station in the way on the RAAF side of the airport. Aircraft are also landing further down the runway.
  22. Thanks for the comments. YSCB is a great place to spot, with places all around close to the action (And also if you want the sun behind you when shooting the spotting locations are all in good spots) to spot from. Unfortunently we don't get many big jets in so its kinda repetitive fleet wise. That spot was just near the RAAF base gates. Never been up there, but there were plenty of spiders in the hedges approx 1 m from the fenceline!
  23. I thought that she payed for her own travel out here, the only thing we were paying for was her internal travel on the 34th sqdn. Anyway I think G-YMMO is specially done so it can be converted for use by the Queen whenever she need's it.
  24. I posted this on the Sydney Airport Board aswell, but here is what happened. Arrived approx. 8.45am. Landed on Runway 35, they made a switch as when I checked the ATIS it was listed as runway 17 for Arrivals and departures, so I and my father had to make the mad dash to the other side of the airport getting stuck behind What I am sure was John Howard. Arrived near runway 35 where there was a small group of people, Monarchist's probably. Not sure if there were any spotters there. Here are the shots from this location: G-YMMO again G-YMMO rear shot And here are some shots of it over at the RAAF base: G-YMMO at RAAF Base G-YMMO at RAAF Base
  25. lol, yeah should get some pics, but i would say it is the first day of the last week of normal school before exams unfortunently!
