Memories there with those pocket heaters...I had forgotten all about them...best gloves I owned were rabbit skin I wore them till my wife couldn't sew them back together anymore.

I had water proof mittens over them when raining..best boots were sheepskin...

I only use it for hills it's not on all the time.

My motorhome has a 60 lt gas tank I only turn it on when approaching a hill..I've only filled it once in two years that was January this year.

They tried to charge for overfly at Hervey Bay years back... went nowhere. It was pointed out that they don't own the air.

Franco is still alive and well Nev, I chat with him on FB, he's still flying.

One of my instructors hit the master switch off..we had just turned downwind @ Hervey bay.told me to aim at the centre of the runway, and as we got closer to start aiming back towards the threshold. I ended up just doing a normal landing...it did at first scare the crap out of me .

I do remember saying I was going to bash the crap out of him when we land... but I forgot to do it...

Sorry if I offend - not big on "look at me" ostentatious displays - next it will uniforms, rank epaulets, etc - What's wrong with a nice certificate,  you can frame & hang on your wall at home?

 

It may be a tad hard for some to reolise, most of us are just amature/recreational pilots not "Top Guns"

We have a pair of Magpies here with a young baby.

The parent's when coming into land on a windy day turn into wind just as the let down...baby has yet to master this maneuver...comical..
