  1. T87 Is this your first build? Do you think the 601 a good kit for a first timer? Cheers Damian
  2. Thanks Greg. So much for what I thought was good research, I hadn't even seen the Zodiac before. I've just spent a hour looking thorugh the Zenith site and our Zenith forum here. It now looks like I have to add the 601 as a third choice. Cheers Damian
  3. Hi All I have now narrowed down my kit build to 2 aircraft, the Vans RV-12 or the Rans S-19. As far as I can tell, they are both very similar aircraft performance wise, with the only real difference between the two is the RV-12 has removable wings. This may end up being the final selling point as I could keep the aircraft to home in the garage. So I interested to hear peoples opinions on the S-19. Is anyone building one? Has anyone flown one? Cheers Damian
  4. There was a rumour going around for a few years that it was own by Mel Gibson.
  5. Jaws has got it. That's definaitely where it is. I just Google Earth'd it.
  6. Hey Bretto I'm definately interested in knowing what your price will be for the kit total landed in Oz. Keep me posted. Cheers Damian
  7. You're right, I meant RA not GA.
  8. Hi Cazza I will be flying with Jill at the TFT initially until I get my GA license. I'm really looking forward to flying their Tecnam Sierra as it's completely differnent to anything I've flown before (C150, C172, Piper Warrior and Piper Arrow). I'm actually getting quite excited about the whole thing. Listen to me, I'm sounding like a little kid in a toy shop. I'm hoping to be in Temora on the weekend of the 7th or 8th of June, I think it's a long weekend. I would love to see your husbands RV6 and actually speak to an RV builder. Are you guys going to be around? Cheers Damian
  9. I certainly hope so. Thanks for the welcome.
  10. Hi All Second post here. I am considering building an RV12, does anyone know if it fits the ultralight category? I know the 544kg rule and the mtow of the RV12 is 599kg, so unless I'm missing something, you fly it under GA-Aus licensing. Cheers Damian
  11. Hi All Well I know absolutely no-one here, or so I think. I am returning to real flying after a 9 year hiatus and boy have the rules changed. After making the descision to start flying again, I started to investigate what I need to do to renew my license/medical cert. Then I discover that there's this new type of certification called RA-Aus, which year ago was called a restricted PPL, but now you can get a cross country endorsement and fly almost anywhere. How good is this!! I just hope I haven't lost the knack. My last flight 9.5 years ago was my PPL check flight, which didn't go so well. My son had just been born and that was the end of my flying career. Up unitl now that is. Anyway, I'm going to have my first flight at Temora in a few weeks, so here's hoping I can still do it. I'll keep you informed. On a side note, I'm considering building a Vans RV12, does any know if it fits into the RA flying category? Happy Flying Cheers Damian
