  1. I have been ready for my first solo for 3 weeks (total 15 hrs so far) but still waiting for my Medical from CASA - should have submitted that at week 1 :-( I really dont think it matters how may hours - everyone has a different learning rate. I am getting plenty of circuit training whilst waiting for the medical and each time there are differnet weather and traffic conditions - good experience.
  2. Yeah thats probably the issue I have at the moment. Flaring too early. I finally got the tip to fly it "down" to the runway. You initially feel like you are coming in way too hot, but learning that flaring too early can be ugly once your speed washes off and you get close to stall speed.
  3. Yeah that was me in PBS. Done 3 hours of circuits now. Was a bit bumpier on Friday which was good - being pushed north a little on base gave me something extra to think about, especially when Dave put it to idle and made me glide home!! I guess thats the whole idea of circuits yeah?
  4. I am learnig quickly how much of an advantage it is to trim during the circuit. It's a 5 second job that makes a massive difference to how relaxed you can be on base and final.
  5. Yeah I learnt that pretty well last lesson. The few downwinds that were spot on ended up with a good base and final. Good advice - thx
  6. Hey good advice thanks. After my second week of circuits she is coming down nicely, although weather is perfect at the moment. Another lesson this afternoon. As "ayavner" says its just coping with the workload and remembering the "fly the plane" - all good advice. Absolutely loving it. I did my TIF in the Citabria but Dave suggested we do the training in the Piper. Cheers all.
  7. Hi all. Another recruit training weekly with Curtis @ Camden NSW. Loving it and just started circuits in the warrior. The team at Curtis are fantastic. To all those qualified - What was the one aspect you found hardest to master? Cheers
